Thanks in advance......

I have a HUGE little people lot, think I'll try Craigslist this time as I think shipping it would be too expensive and no one on Ebay would want to pay it. Here's what I have, I'd like to sell it all together. I can attach pictures here if you want to see what I have. They are all in great shape, all with batteries, all complete w/ all the people/animals that go w/each one except for the construction site that is missing the "office".

Also, is Craigslist really free???

Little People Barn
Little People Noah's Ark
Little People Discovery Sounds Village (retired)
Little People School Bus
LIttle People extra set w/Santa, Mrs. Claus, Reindeer, present, Christmas tree, elf
Little People Ferris Wheel (retired)
Little People Fun Sounds Amusement Park (retired)
Little People Construction Site

What do you think I should ask for it??
thanks again!

1)Craigslist is free

2) it's for more yard sale type pricing so $5-$10 per set at the max is all I'd even ask.

3) you'd be hard pressed to find someone who wants it all as a lot

4)put it on Ebay as seperate lots if you want to make some money off it, maybe group like with like.

5) I've sold LP sets on Ebay and shipping is cheap when you use Fed Ex and stay out of the oversize box range.

thanks, I was hoping someone might want to buy the whole lot for their child, but I guess you're right, that is a lot of Little People stuff!

I might try Ebay, I just hate paying for boxes to ship stuff in.

Since craigslist is free, why not try that first?
And be creative - include the condition the toys are in and say something like GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR GRANDPARENTS LOOKING TO ENTERTAIN! FUN TOYS FOR A DAYCARE!

My grandparents have a lot of young great-grandchildren and they would happily be the whole lot to store in their basement - maybe others would too!

Why would you pay for the box? USPS gives you priority boxes for free. I am looking to get rid on my Little People this summer in my huge garage sale I am having. I really have to start getting the stuff together. Keep us posted on how it does however you end up selling it. I am interested to see what you can get for yours to see what I can get for mine. LOL. I have a few more sets then you but I just want to get rid of it.

I'd try Craigs List. You might find someone who would take the whole lot. When DD was young she was crazy about the Little People but only the old style ones. The ones they took off the market because the heads were too small. So the only place to get them was yard sales (15 years ago Ebay wasn't as big as it is now). I remember finding a yard sale that had a treasure trove of little people - I bought about $40 worth which was a lot back then! Several complete play sets and lots of the people. I still have all of the Little People.

It just seems like the Priority boxes wouldn't be big enough for what I have. I could be wrong, I'll have to check out what sizes they have.

I didn't see anybody else say this (sorry if I missed it), but I would check Ebay to see how much these sets are going for to help you determine your prices. I see that several of your items are now retired, may make them more valuable.

I also agree that you will probably have to sell the sets individually and probably $5-$10 per set. Most used toys get no more than 25% of their original value in my opinion.

ask on freecycle for some large mailing boxes. That's what I used to do. I used to sell large little tike and step 2 items on Ebay and had to make most of my boxes. The only time I bought a box was from Walmart and it had a powerwheels in it clearanced to $20! LOL I needed the box for a little tikes kitchen I had sold and then I sold the powerwheel pieces on Craigslist locally for $60. ;) Even put in my ad I bought the powerwheels for the box! :rotfl:

Some of those Little People sets on ebay go for a lot of money! I would check first on ebay before I would craigslist them to get their value.

Yeah sorry I didn't think of that. :rotfl:

I had a TON of little people toys when my DS was younger, he loved playing with them. I did sell them at a yard sale and someone came and bought them all - I even had extra people I wasn't sure what set they went to and they took them also.

Same here! I am a HUGE collector of the classic Fisher Price Little People sets (I am trying to get them all! ). Some sets go for insane prices on Ebay - like the Castle set and parts; and the Play Family Rooms 909 parts and base! Some specific parts go for so much $$ - like the letters for the Village or Main Street sets; or a Little Person in an unusual color combination (I seen some go for $150 alone!!!) You were incredbly fortunate to find so many at a garage sale! I rarely if ever find them at random garage sales anymore. But thanks to Ebay, I have so manys sets I only dreamed about having as a kid! :teeth:

Yea - this is in the kid's room!

HugsForEeyore- do you have the old house? The one that looked like a cape cod style? I think my mom still has ours... she just recently asked me if I wanted it. I told her no and I don't know if she still has it or if she got rid of it already. I believe she had one other piece also, though I can't remember what it was.
I will be gone all day today, but let me know if you are interested. Where in NJ are you?? I am in Middlesex County and Mom is in Somerset.

Wait, the castle set and parts are worth a lot? I bought ours at the thrift store for like $3, and I also found the Robin Hood set that goes with it there for like $3. I'm going to check Ebay now to see what it sells for! DD has a bazillion LP sets and wouldn't miss this one if it sells for a bundle:laughing:

I believe it's the old-style castle set that goes for so much. See the castle in the bottom left of the picture?

These were my favorite toys as a kid and my mom finally got rid of all of them... right before I had my first child. AARRGGHHH!

I checked Ebay and I was pretty surprised by how much the newer style castle and associated sets go for too. I would never have thought to look there. I was just going to use Craigslist to list all of the Little People sets for a flat rate when DD was done with them.

Don't feel bad. My mom got rid of our FP old-style farm before I had kids too. That was a great set!

I love your picture. I see some familiar pieces in there! DD once lined up all of her "people". The line went from inside her bedroom, through the kitchen, and out into the living room. She literally has hundreds - all from yard sales. It was the only place I could buy them. I don't think I ever paid more than $5 or $6 for a set. The individual people were usually either just thrown in with a set or were really cheap. DD has an A-Frame house that I've never seen anywhere else. She also has a record player/music box that I think was part of a larger set. But it still has the original records so you can change the music. And the zoo set would keep her busy for a long time too. I recognized her amusement park in your picture too. Glad my DH made me keep all of that stuff. I knew people collected but never really looked to see what they were worth. Maybe when I can get to the shed they are stored in I'll get them out and see about selling them off to pay for her trip to Paris this summer. I am going to have to spend some time on E-Bay.

Hugsforeeyore~ what an awesome collection!! Brings back some great memories of my childhood seeing all those sets! :goodvibes
