We will be staying at WDW for 6 nights in early August...but need something for the first 3 nights... we will have a car and will NOT be going to the parks those days. It is myself and DH and our 2 college age DD's....would like to stay around $100/night but might be willing to go higher for a really awesome location. We would like to find someplace nice with some on site recreational stuff for the girls or at least a good pool for them to hang out.

Any suggestions??

We liked our stay at the Radisson Resort Celebration last fall. There is a really nice pool complex- a huge freeform main pool with a waterfall and poolside games and music. There is also a nice hot tub area, kiddie pool, and smaller heated "quiet" pool close by. There is a gift shop, sports bar, grille, and restaurant in the lobby. We paid about $80/night on Hotwire- I believe Mousesavers.com has discounted rates available as well. The resort is very close to the "Main Gate" of WDW- less than 2 miles, I think.

You may also want to look at the deals at the Gaylord Palms, or even one of the vacation club places (like Horizons). FWIW.

We love Cypress Pointe Grand Villas through hotelkingdom.com
Good rates, great location(maybe 1/2 mile to the entrance to Downtown Disney), nice spacious condos, onsite mini-golf, large pools, hot tub, and so on. I love it there!

here is the sponsor list.

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/resort.htmthe Sheraton vistana resort is big and has alot to do there. plus was surprised at all the young men - they were playing basketball and some bowling thing.

so your daughters might enjoy the scenery....:lmao:

Now SpiceyCat....is that the kind of "sightseeing" we want them to do??:rotfl2::dance3:

Thanks for the suggestins...I am going to check out Cypress Pointe and Vistana

yea but pretty sure that the ladies will enjoy it.

one disers wrote me and say that her daughter was flat out refusing vistana until she saw my pictures with all the guys in it...

which I could still post them - but work does not like the new website.

I'm kind of looking for the same thing. Hope to find a place for only one night though. I was actually looking for something maybe even less than $100 but a pool is a must for DD and DS!

I would consider Comfort Suites Main Gate East for one night. They have a pretty good pool, their rooms sleep six, and they have a free deluxe continental breakfast with make your own waffles. If you go to Orlando Visitors web site you can get a rate of either $69 or $89 depending on whether or not it is peak season. http://www.orlandoinfo.com/magicard/listings.cfm?searchCategor
You will have to download and print off the card, but that is a decent rate.

If you are looking for something much cheaper, you could try Travelodge or Ramada Main Gate West, both have been mentioned on a couple of threads. I wish the search was working to link you to the threads.

Do you remember what the discription on Hotwire was for this hotel?
I'll see if I can figure it out on better bidding
it sounds awesome but I'm such cheapscape ~i may want something for less. All of our $$$ is going to WDW!:rotfl: That pool sure does sound nice though!

poster #5 has a link to this hotel from the DIS and Easter weekend they are offering rooms for $79. The only thing stopping me is some poor reviews on tripadvisor.com. I'm a terrible combination of cheap and PICKY!

I second Comfort Suites Maingate East. Just make sure it's Maingate EAST!

Have you looked on tripadvisor? www.tripadvisor.com

They rate all the hotels based on user reviews and have candid pics from users:thumbsup2

I never stay anywhere without checking there first and Comfort Suites Maingate East is one of the top rated hotels.

They have a great pool and hot tub and mickey waffles and are about a mile from WDW.

I just looked it up, and I'm pretty sure it is the "3 1/2 star hotel at Main Gate-Champions Gate" for $76/night. The amenities listed are: Resort, Pool, Fitness Ctr, Restaurant, Business Ctr, High Speed Internet Access, Laundry, Tennis nearby.

There is, I think, a $10/day "resort" fee, and they do also charge a parking fee, I seem to remember.

Which would you choose for a late arrival, 1 night, before staying at BCV on WDW property:

Buena Vista Suites or Comfort Inn Maingate East?:confused3

I have BVS booked at a great rate ($99 total price), but CIME does look very nice and a bit closer to WDW.

BVS is not that far from WDW at all. But for late night arrivals, I prefer to stay near MCO. I use Priceline at the 3* or 2 1/2 * level and usually get the Marriott or the Amerisuites respectively, both of which are fine for me.The nin the am I take the shuttle back to the airport, and grab the rental car or ME depending on what we're doing.

you can sometimes find a villa or condo for less than $100 a night that will NOT charge you for a cleaning fee for 3 nights or less.

I have seen some 2-3 bedroom rentals for $59
vrbo.com
lots over at windsor hills
