i know i've heard a lot about Crocs. but boy are they ugly....lol! and from the looks of them they don't look that comfortable. can anyone recommend their favorite shoes to wear walking around the park and where you got them and how much they were?
thanks!!

shoes....sneakers....whatever works. :) I just want to know what people find to be the best for them :)

i had no problem with flip flops and sandals. my kiddos, who did a lot of stroller riding, wore sandals and crocs. dh wore his running shoes...

Crocs. You may think they're ugly- I personally love the way they look- but aside from that, they are probably the most comfortable shoe any in our family has ever worn. More comfortable than my various Birkenstocks(and I do think those are homely:thumbsup2 )
We all wear nothing but crocs-

sneakers w/ socks or crocs w/ socks are really quite comfortable. DH likes flip flops and the kids will walk miles in sandals but I'm not really sure how comfortable they really are.

But a good pair of jogging shoes with socks is a safe bet.

I have always lived in Nike sneakers, and they're great shoes. But this last time I got sneakers, the sales-girl said that everybody at that store wears Asics. They work on their feet all day, and she said Asics were the only shoes that kept their feet comfortable all day. So, I decided to try on a pair of Asics and walked around the store for a while- OMG! These are the most amazingly comfortable shoes I've ever had on my feet. And, the comfort lasts all day long!! I had sore feet a few days ago, due to a very hard day the day before. I got up, put on my Asics, and the pain in my heels started to tone down. By the afternoon, my feet were about painless. You can believe that next time I go 'home', I'm wearing my Asics!!

Crocs- definitely.

You will get over the ugliness of them once you wear them for a day... :thumbsup2

Even better than Crocs?

DISNEY CROCS!!!! :rotfl2:

I second the Asics! I have the Gel Nimbus and they are awesome! I rotate between those and Saucony Gels for daily work (i have a home daycare) and both are nice. I plan on getting a new pair of Asics soon to break in before our June trip.

I can't wear Crocs for more then about half an hour.... (SOrry but cheap rubber shoes don't agree with my feet)

I have Brooks running shoes and a pair of Ecco Sandels. Either one of those work great for me.

The BEST advice, go try shoes on. Then wear them. Do not arrive in Disney with those "cute Mickey Mouse Crocs" thinking you will wear them if you have not worn them a LOT at home. Same goes for any shoes. WDW is not the place to discover those "adoreable" shoes hurt!!!

For us, the trick is to have two good pairs of sneakers and rotate shoes.

You know after reading on the disboards that Crocs were just the best thing that has ever been made for feet, I went out and purchased a pair.
WHAT A MISTAKE!! I wore them for ONE day and I got a blister on top my foot. UGH, all that money for one day. I do NOT recommend Crocs, I did better with my regualar flip flops that I wear all the time, and we went almost everday for TWO weeks. I say, wear what you normally do!

Either Reefs or the Croc Flip-flops. I'm a flip-flop girl who's feet hurt too much in sneakers. Yes, I have really bizarre tan lines on my feet, but comfort is the key.

Just to give you an idea as to me and the sneakers not working, Thanksgiving I alwasy have a fresh pair of socks and either crocs or a slip on sneaker waiting to put on after I finish the parade, I just can't stand to be in sneakers for more than an hour or two at a time.

I searched forever to find good shoes to walk around in, they are these (but w/o the backstrap):

I have HORRIBLE feet and these felt great! They were NOT cheap, something like $85 but worth every penny since I was able to enjoy my vacation. 2.5 yrs later they are my "main" shoes spring thru fall and they're still fine!
They are made by SAS, can't buy them online, they have their own stores or you can find them in "higher end" shoe stores.

Hands down crocs for me. I was a sneaker lover but after my last trip I can't part with my crocs. I would wear them all year long if I could. I wish they had white crocs when I got married. I would have worn them for my wedding instead!!

Whatever you decide, please take it from me and bring two pair. One day of my vacation it poured and I was at Epcot. The drainage isn't the greatest and I ended up with wet shoes. I really wish I had another pair that were dry, because the wet ones ended up shrinking and causing a blister to form between my toes.
My feet, buy the end of the week were killing me. I'll know better next time.

I would like to second & third the suggestion of bringing two pairs of comfortable broken in shoes.

I like to wear my Crocs (love 'em!) and a pair of New Balance walking shoes. The thing about the Crocs is you can wear them to the water parks or of it's raining. They don't mind getting wet and dry quickly.

I  my mary jane style Skechers. I have 2 pairs that I wore at WDW in January for 6 days. For the first time at WDW, my feet did not hurt at all.
