We are going to Disney in late May for the first time. (have been in other AWFUL months). How are the lines and weather? Looking forward to not-so-long lines, and some not-so-hot weather.

thanks.

:welcome: Hi and welcome to the DIS!

As for crowds, in general May crowds are pretty light (weekends are always busier than weekdays) until you get to Memorial Day weekend. Then the summer crowds start building little by little to their peak the week of July 4.

to their site and see their predictions for crowd levels on a day-by-day basis. We're going late May/early June and I was glad to see that the week we're going has predicted levels lower than earlier in the month.

Our last Disney trip was DLR over Memorial Day weekend '05...can you say "time to bring out the white ropes"? UGH.

We got spoiled by our previous WDW visit, which was in early May. That trip our longest wait was half an hour for Dumbo. Matter of fact, our ONLY wait was half an hour for Dumbo!!!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this trip will be similar to that one!

thanks for the info. We are actually going to be there from 5/23-6/3 - so we will hit the Mem. Day weekend. Guess that won't be any worse than Easter week when they closed down MK because it was FULL TO CAPACITY. But I did hear that the last week in May is usually a good time. Keeping my fingers crossed as well!

We will also be going to WDW 5/23-5/30. I was wondering about Memorial Day Weekend. This will be our first time ever to WDW. We are so excited.

We were there last year for Memorial Day week and it was not that bad. The weather was great. We didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes for any ride. We started when the park opened and managed to get all the major rides done early. Now, as with anytime of year, it will get more crowded during the afternoon. We were there for the Flower and Garden Festival and the beginning of Star Wars weekends last year. I think it's a great time to go.

we're going 5/21-5/29. i was a little worried about the memorial day weekend, but we're going to a wedding near orlando (we're from ny) so we will already be there at that time. we're hoping the holiday weekend won't be so bad that it will cancel out the travel savings.

i'm assuming saturday-monday will be the busiest. any one who goes at that time, is that the case? we figured if it's bad we could just go to the parks early for a few hours on those days.

In regard to which DAYS are busiest....I found a chart on the home page of undercovertourist.com (click on 'avoid the lines') which shows the best/busiest days of the week for each park.
