After an awesome December trip I am hoping to start planning again for Jan. 2009. I tried on the website, but they are only taking reservations through December. When will I be able to put in the January dates to get a quote? I thought for sure you could book 11 months in advance. TIA!

You can book ROOMS by telephone any time.

You can only book (most) ADRs (restaurant reservations) 180 days in advance.

As to the park hours being posted-

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/calendar/parkhours/index?id=MKCalendarParkHoursMonthlyViewPage

Click the above link for the OFFICIAL WDW Calendar.
Then:

1. Pick your Park.
2. Pick your Month.
3. CLICK ON the DATE on which you want the info.

Disney publishes dates and times approximately 6 months in advance, on or about first of the month.
Expect EMH hours to be posted within 2-5 days following the hours' posting.
Make sure to check back often, as times and events are subject to change as the actual dates get nearer.

Aug. 2008 Hours were posted on Feb. 1, 2008. >EMH listings were posted in the afternoon of Feb. 5.

Sept 2008 Hours should be posted on or about Mar. 1, 2008.
Oct. 2008 Hours should be posted on or about Apr. 1, 2008.
Nov. 2008 Hours should be posted on or about May 1, 2008.
Dec. 2008 Hours should be posted on or about June 1, 2008.
Jan. 2009 Hours should be posted on or about July 1, 2008.
Feb. 2009 Hours should be posted on or about Aug. 1, 2008.

For EMH, click on the WORDS "Extra Magic Hours" on the calendar.
Or click HERE:

Again, remember to check back often as your trip approaches.
AND also check DURING your trip, just in case there are last-minute changes.

You can't book ANYTHING online past January 8th, 2009 currently. Your check-in date must be in 2008 in order to do even that.

You can book room only thru the phone for the rest of January of 2009 ... you'll be quoted a MUCH higher rate because they default to the highest rate for the period until the hotel and package rates for 2009 are set in August of 2008. You can't book anything for 2009 online until August.

If you are booking a package, you can't book packages til August. You can book room only now. And then cancel that in August and switch it to a package. But .. you're no further ahead doing that.

Basically.. I don't see much point in booking this far out PERSONALLY.. you may as well wait till the rates for 2009 are released. January is NOT a peak travel period for the most part and August of 2008 should be plenty of time to book and get whatever you desire.

That said - you can still call and book a room-only as I noted above. The rates you are quoted will be HIGH.

I'm moving this post to the resorts and booking board where it is a much better fit than theme parks. :) I think I got this information correct.. but if I didn't one of the experts here will note where I goofed!

Thanks!

Knox

Thanks. I guess I am not ready to actually book yet, but I was looking for rates so I know the cost of what I want to do.

I know January is not crowded (we love that time of year for that reason) I just really like to be prepared ahead of time!

I just booked our Jan 09 trip last week. And yes, I did have to call to book and was quoted PEAK rates for value season. BUT... now the rezzies are made-- so one less thing to worry/think about! I even got my 180 ADR date-- if I waited until next year's rates were out I would miss that date!

I hadn't even thought about ADRs, thanks. So will the price automatically be reduced for you or do you have to call them in August when the rates come out?

:cool1: Hi! I just booked my Jan. 09 trip yesterday. We are staying at WL in a standard room and I just wanted to make sure I at least had the room secure. The price was verrry high for this time of year, but the cast member I spoke to was so nice and did tell me it would be automatically adjusted when the rates did come out. :) I am hoping to get some kind of discount by that time (aaa, annual pass, or pin would be really great :woohoo: )Now we at least have our standard room secured and will be able to make ADR too.
The only bad thing is the deposit you have to give will be a little higher since the rate is. Good luck
