best or worst experience

Best was getting an upgrade at GF to a castle view.

Sitting on the balconey with our orange juice from the concierge lounge in the am was awesome too.

Worst was trying to sleep in a tent at FW in the brutal heat. That was our own stupidity, not Disney's fault.

Best: When I stayed at the Poly for the first time and was checking in and got upgraded from a regular Garden View room to a concierge level Garden View room!
Worst: The bus situation at All Star movies. When I stayed there, I hardly ever got a seat since the buses were shared with All Star Sports and All Star Music.

Best experience: Everything about the vast majority of my stays at the CBR and Polynesian.
Worst: During my most recent trip to CBR there was a convention group staying there that had its own bus service to the Swan and Dolphin. The motor coachs idled in the guest parking area right outside the rooms 16 hours a day, from 6 am to 10 or 10:30 at night. When one pulled out, another one would pull up. It was incredibly disruptive, noisy and unpleasant. I love the CBR because it is a peaceful lovely retreat and I hated being there with the constant very intrusive noise. The buses even honked their horns. I asked to be moved but because it was MLK weekend, there were no other rooms. I couldn't wait to check out.
I sent an email about this to guest communications, asking that they consider having such bus services run from the food court or other public areas rather than immediately adjacent to the guest rooms. I haven't heard anything back, but I understand it takes some weeks for them to respond. I have to say as much as I love the CBR I wouldn't go back if I thought that would happen again.

Best experience:Started out my 10 day trip, 4 off property, with a reservation that got fouled up thanks to the computer. So effectively, we had no room. Eventually, it all worked out okay, but it took 2hrs. By the time we got to WDW hurricane Wilma was coming in. We'd unpacked and headed off to AKL to get some desserts we could take to the beach at Poly to watch Wishes and eat. After returning to POFQ, our room was full of posters, masks, and beads. (I'd also been trying to get the AP discount for months, but the website was all messed and wouldn't allow me to do so and there was no one to speak with about it.) I'm not sure if it's because I'd finally got a discount because I contacted the GM at POFQ, his asst. actually, or because of the hurricane. But it made for an upturn on the vacation, something finally going right. Keep in mind we'd rode the boat over to POR to eat at Boatrights, went to the room to get our dessert. But as we were headed back out it started to lightening, so we never made it to the beach.

Thankfully, I've never really had a worst moment. ;)

Worst: GF. Rude and/or non existent service. No you aren't doing me a favor by allowing me to stay in your pretty resort!(and for those prices I expected frienly CMs. LOL!)

Best..... Hmm. But IMHO overall BEST... Looking out of a room at AKL for the first time and seeing that savannah... WOW!!!!

Best: Making fantastic friends with the CM at the BWI from the Innkeepers Lounge:thumbsup2

Worst: Having a room on the 2nd floor of the lobby at the BC. Way too loud:scared1: and mousekeeping was horrible

Best both occured at AKL free upgrade and anniversary buttons and a cake. The CL staff are just outstanding and were so nice to my son giving him little presents every day. Probably why I love this resort so much. From check in to check out we were made to feel special both times.

Worst - High school trip to the Grovsnor (sp) resort and we had to stay out of our rooms from 9 am til 9pm in the brutal heat. It was bad bad bad and the resort was kind of crappy compared to my parents taking us to CR or Poly as kids.

Best- 2000 at Coronado Springs. We received a free upgrade to a second floor, corner room, water view. Very nice!

Worst- Haven't had a "bad" resort experience at WDW. However, my least favorite stay was in 1998 at ASMu. That's probably because I've become a deluxe snob. :goodvibes

Best was at the YC, it was so peaceful and beautiful, great quiet pool that no one uses.

Worst wasnt a stay at any resort but it was finding the POP when it first opened. We were driving up late one night and there signage for this place was terrible. It was 2 am and we spent an hour driving around trying to find it!

Best: CSR last June - we don't have a spectacular story, and all of our trips are good, but this was the FIRST time we had towel animals at WDW (we are DVC and don't often see mousekeeping on our trips). We also were there the same time as a large group of the Deaf from Canada. The resort was so quiet, you couldn't believe there was anyone else there.

Best was having Disney call me and offer me an upgrade from POFQ to WL when it first opened. Trying to fill a new hotel I imagine. We were blown away by the hotel and the cheap rate we paid.

Worst , well I can't say that I've really had a bad stay at WL twice ot CBR twice. Going back to CBR in Ocotober.

Best-first trip with my DD to Poly concierge-a very magical stay!

Worst-returning to POFQ our first night to find that our rooms had no furniture!:scared1: Not fun at 9pm with tired DH & kids and no luggage. The CM on duty quickly found us new rooms with beds but we had a while for our bags to be delivered. And to make it worse when I went to talk to someone the next day about it they laughed at me.:headache: I should have asked for the resort GM but I didn't want to waste any more time of my vacation. I did write to Disney after the trip.

Best experiance staying POR. The resort is beautiful. Worst experiance is at POR. My husband is handicapped and we came back to our room to find the workers golf cart was blocking the sidewalk entrance and he could not get into the room. There is only certain pathways you can use with a wheelchair. A worker came along and saw our dilemma and moved it out of the way for us. Other than that we enjoyed POR. We especially like the boatride to downtown.

Worst: Overall horrible experience at Saratoga Springs, from the second we arrived, too numerous and involved to get into.

Best: Being transferred out of there to Boardwalk Villas, at no extra charge!

Worst....absolutely hated CBR....nothing specifically went wrong, I just didn't care for the resort. :sad2:

Best.....Poly upgraded us to Club Level for free once. :woohoo:
