DDA Chapter 3

Your welcome. Riley is not a Cars fan either :rotfl: I just thought I would offer them here 1st. If no one can use them, I will take them to Goodwill.

It would probably fit either Colby or Hunter.

Ok, now I don't remember the infamous post. When the old thread comes back I'm going to have to go and check it out. Elin had a mean post? I don't believe it.

It wasn't so much a mean post as a misplaced gesture :rotfl:

We are back from bowling. The boys did ok, but not spectacular. One of their friends is here until 3. They are currently watching the Simpson Movie. All is very quiet. Must be a boy thing :goodvibes We've had lunch so I guess we should go take a look at the camper. :sad2:

I wondered if maybe that was a typo, but I figured you know how old your child is! :lmao:

They grow up so fast. It seems like just yesterday that we were having Becky's 13th brithday party. That was her golden birthday. She turned 13 on Friday the 13th! What a day!

Happy 13th Birthday Jackie!

party: :cake:

:wizard: and  to all. I am in a cold medicine fog. I can't stand this feeling but can't breath without it.

Kristine-my thoughts and prayers are with you. Happy Birthday Jackie!

Tammi-Congrats to you & Bob. He sure is a keeper! I'm so happy for you.

Steffy-I tried the Sweet & Sour chicken in the crock pot and we definately WAY over cooked it. Instead of being nice and tender it was hard as a rock.

Denise-BK is beautiful! Glad she was up for the dance. Lizzy & DH go to a girl scout father/daughter dance and we take their photo in front of our brick fireplace. From year to year I watch her grow a brick or more.

Anne Marie-hope things are better at your house! You poor thing!!!!

Marci-glad you're feeling a bit better today.

Marci/Elizabeth/Lindsay-enjoy your lunch & weather!

Lindsay-glad your knee isn't quite as bad as you feared. Hope it heals quickly.

Elizabeth-you do need to learn the "freedom" packing light gives you!;) Do you really need pool towels? If you came home with 7-8 unused outfits couldn't you go down with just what you took last year?

Elin-love reading about your trip plans!

Tia-glad you survived the party. Hope Terra doesn't have an ear infection!

Beth-do your classrooms have doors? Our preschool doesn't open the classroom doors til a few minutes before class starts.

Deb-love your new shirt! Colby did a great job taking the photos!

Paula-your pillowcases are stunning! I'm sure they are a lot of work. You should look at www.jiffyshirts.com they have lots of totes bags and sinch backpacks for less $ than the material costs of your pillow cases. Maybe you could personalize one of those for less work and still get the $20 each you would like.

Debbie-good luck as you continue to get your blood levels under control.

Karen-good luck today!

Robyn-congrats to Lucy! and :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for photopass! Let me know when you've had enough and I'll order the CDs.

Jennifer-sorry you aren't happy with your OB. Glad you got to see your babies again and have peace of mind! When is your level II?

Chris just went to the dump and made a second trip with all the recycling.

I singlehandedly shovelled off 3 campers :headache: I'm sure advil will be my friend tonight:goodvibes

So, we might have snuck in a bonus ultrasound today.... :rolleyes1

I have a blog post talking about the results if you want details (site in my sig), but I'd rather not post them here right now. All is well, though.

I'm off to find some lunch! Have a good afternoon!
Jennifer, why are you not being followed by a Perninatologist? Here in Atlanta, if you are having multiples you automatically are referred to a Peri and they are your main doctor. The OB just does what the Peri says. Have you asked for a referral? have you taken a MULTIPLES ONLY prenatal class yet? That is what I teach on the weekends. Multiple pg are completely different from singletons and the risks are much greater. Can't your RE refer you to a Peri? We had U/S once a month, then every 2 weeks, then every week. Risk of Pre-term labor is quite high, and they should be measuring your cervix via US now to have a reference point for later in the pg. I have had 3 couples in my class in full PTL and had NO idea (and one's DH was a physician). They left the class, went straight to the hospital, were admitted in PTL and put on bedrest. 1 family lost the twins. I'm not trying to scare you, but you need better care at this point. BTW, we suggest the class between weeks 15-22 before PTL and bedrest is more likely. I was admitted at weeks 14 and week 18 to delivery in PTL.

Here's the link to the class I teach. It's offerred Nationwide. www.marvelousmultiples.com

Thank you for those links! I will see a peri for my Level II, and may or may not be followed by him going forward. I will, however, demand checks for cervical competence, placental sufficiency, etc via u/s in the appointments after the level II. I have B-H contractions already, which aren't concerning in and of themselves, but I certainly want to be able to trust SOME doctor I'm seeing when any sort of contraction could matter even more! I contacted a Peri myself (it's not standard around here to refer for twins, without advanced maternal age or other risks. HOMs get referred immediately, as do people with previous miscarriages or >35yo).

Believe me, I agree with you 100%. The thing that scares me even more than PTL (which is frightening!) is silent loss due to cervical incompetence. That could go completely unnoticed unless you are looking for it, and it's practically always treatable and the babies end up ok if you do catch it.

Thankfully, I'm demanding enough  to get results since I am aware of the risks -- sometimes I feel like ignorance would be bliss, but since most complications of multiples can be treated to prevent loss, I'll take a little extra worry if it means understanding what needs to be followed!

That's what happened to me. Went in at 18 weeks. Was dilated 2cm, my cervix had shortened from 4.7 to 0.8, and was funnelling almost completely through. I had NO SYMPTOMS except for a few BHC. Had an emergency cerclage, MagSo4, and complete bedrest until I delivered 10 weeks later. Not fun at all! I literally almost lost all 3. I can't imagine life without them. And, I was being followed by a Peri, had been seen 3 days before with U/S and was completely fine. It literally happened overnight.

That is exactly what I worry about! I know things are a bit easier with twins, but I will still be more aggressive I think! I'm so happy yours was a happy ending! :goodvibes

Healthy mom, healthy babies is our motto at Marvelous Multiples. Do whatever it takes to make sure that happens!

Elizabeth-when do you need to call group dining for an ADR? Is a party of 10 too big for the "regular" line?

Bernadette - No, no, no! Last year was only 9 night, not 16. I have to have 2 outfits for every day, which means 7 more than last year. Plus those couple of extra I can't bear to leave behind. :rolleyes1 The thing is, I don't think I have 32 pairs of shorts so I will have to do at least one load of shorts while we are there.
I hope that cold gives you a break soon! :wizard:

Jennifer - I am glad to hear that things look good! I hope you feel better about your Peri than you do about your OB!

I had a delightful lunch with Marci & Lindsay! We need to get in the habit of meeting more often!
We got a Mickey Monitor in the mail today! I'm off to see what it says! :)
