hi-
My family and I will be going to dl/san diego in 18 days!! :woohoo:
I noticed the weather right now is in the upper 60's low 70's. Should we plan on packing more shorts than jeans, and I'm guessing we'll need light jackets for the evenings??? Any info. would be much appreciated!!

I'm from Seattle, and I'm packing a few pants, but plan on wearing shorts. We do wear a sweatshirt if it's chilly in the evening. It's been in the 40s and wet here, so a daytime temp of 70 will feel warm to me; I think after the sun goes down it will probably still be in the upper 50s/60s when we head back to the hotel...? :confused3

I don't know about you, but I cannot wait to see the sun!!! :cool2:

Thanks alex2kmommy! We are in Anchorage, and right now it's 0 outside, so we are definitely ready to get away and feel some warmth!!!!! Have a great trip.

I'm preparing for both sun and rain...we're headed to DL next Friday and I CANNOT WAIT!!!! We're also bringing swim-wear as our hotel has a heated indoor pool. :) Maybe check out hotel pool options too especially if you're bringing young kids who may enjoy a break and some time in the water!

Well, I am going to Disneyland in 10 days and I think you should, like I have, plan to carry a few of both because the mornings and nights will be really chilly and the afternoons can be really hot. It's been raining off and on too. I am not sure if rain is forecasted for when you are going but better safe than sorry! :thumbsup2

Also, if you plan to ride any water rides, make sure you bring extra pairs of socks because it can be really miserable walking in wet socks all day. I learned that the hard way. :(

One other tip: I check the 10-day forecast before I go, and keep checking. This will be the best indicator of what to bring. (Disneyland zip code is 92802.)

If rain and cooler temps are in the forecast, you know what you'll be comfortable wearing, and what temps you'd break out the shorts and tank tops for. :thumbsup2

For our trip this week, the forecast says sunny and 70 - 73! :woohoo:

I suspect that means DS3 will want to hit the pool at least one day. :rotfl:

We are leaving to go on Wed. & I packed Pants & shorts to plan for both. We are hoping to wear shorts the whole time!!!:cool2:

I've been a Tacoman since I was 17, and each time I go to San Diego or Anaheim I am surprised at how chilly I am in the evenings. So I highly recommend bringing a sweatshirt and even some light gloves for the evening, especially if there's rain.

And for the water rides, just wear a poncho. Wet cotton clothes are miserable, no matter what weather you're used to! Poncho or raincoat = good things.

Go see my pictures in my last trip report of the people at the end of Grizzly River Rapids getting drenched by the geyser just when they thought they were safe, and you'll see the need for protective gear. :rotfl: (how I love that ride...)

Katie0677, I was on an Alaskan cruise in late August once, and I was colder in Anaheim in January and early December than I was in Alaska, if that's any help. And I needed my warm coat in Alaska a few times! So in Anaheim I layered with my Disney sweatshirt and a fleece vest of DH's, and wished I had my gloves at night!

Totally concur about the the poncho, Bumbershoot! It will be a cold and miserable day in February without it if you try water rides.

The weather in February will still feel cool most likely, and definitely will be cool in the evenings and early mornings. Plus, it's our rainy month! If you bring some sweatpants/sweatshirts or jackets to leave in a locker for later, you'll be all good. :)

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the advice everyone! I can't wait!
Bunbershoot-It is very dry here in Alaska, it's amazing how good 30 feels in the winter and how warm 75 feels in the summer!! We love it though :) I remember our last trip to DL, in late March, it felt pretty chilly in mornings and evenings.

I would pack some light jackets for down here. We're about 20 mins from Downtown and right now on my Weather Bug I'm showing 40 degrees. Forecast is for mid 60's during the day and mid 30's for the evening.
