We are going the week of March 4-8. Anyone else going then?? I am sooo excited about going but doubly so because my kids don't know. They think we are going in December. :rotfl2: We are going with a big group. Hubbie and me, sons 19, 11, 5, and 3, grandparents, and family friends 2 grown ups and 2 kids (19 and 21) So we have a group of 12. You should have seen us trying to arrange flights and hotels and car rentals and college schedules. Work schedules weren't as hard. Now for the wait :scared1: I wonder if I will make it that long without giving it away. My 19 y old knows because of work schedules but my other 3 kids don't know. We are going to wake them up early on Tues. tell them I am taking grandma and grandpa to the airport and they have to come. Hubbie and older son will follow in g'parents car so little ones don't know. We will all meet at check-in kiosk and surprise them. :lmao: Now if I can only figure out how to convince them not to wear their school uniforms and their disney tshirts instead. :rolleyes1 I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!!
So, who is going to be there? I will have my LGMHHD on my stroller and maybe camera bag. Look for me!!

How am I ever going to keep this from my 11 year old??? It is getting really hard to keep it a secret. :rolleyes1 Oh well, I guess I can do it. You should hear my dad, though, I think he is even more excited than me! (Is that possible???) :hyper2:

I will be there the same time as you!!! Our dates are 3/2-3/8! I hope my Mickey Heads are still in the suitcase from last year. You are staying at HOJO'S right?

We will be there Feb 27- Mar 4. :D

I can't believe you're keeping it a secret! I could never do that- to me, half the fun is the anticipation and planning!

My son doesn't know either...........I plan on telling him about a week before.

We're staying in Garden Grove at the Holiday Inn Express. A little distance away, but we don't mind the drive. Our group (12 people) are a bunch of "foodies" so we always try to hit as many of the local food hot spots as we can. One of our group is a chef and my DH is a self-proclaimed food snob. We also plan on taking it easy Tues thru Thurs and leaving a little early each day since there are no parades or fireworks and we have 4+ days there. So that gives us time to put the kiddies to bed, hang out, talk about how full we are and get good sleep before we hit the parks the next day. All in all a trip to be remembered. Our oldest son is leaving in April to work for an international service organization in Taiwan for 2 years, so we want to have some good bonding memories before he leaves.

That sounds fantastic....and I'm sure you'll have LOTS of memories of the trip!

March 4-10!

Staying at HoJo's for the 1st time.

Thank goodness I will still get to do my favourite Jungle Cruise!

Yay for you!!! What fun!!!! Good luck with keeping the secret though! I can hardly keep the secret from my 4yr old!!! :rotfl: I've already spilled the beans a little and said we're going on vacation!

The calendar on disneyland.com says that Jungle Cruise will be down at that time, doesn't it? :confused3

Hey we have the same ticker! LOL But, I will be gone by then. Have a great trip!! I love doing the surprise trips, in 2006 we surprised our kids by just getting in the car and driving to DL! LOL They were super surprised!!

Enjoy yourselves!

;) ;)

Could the teacher send home notes about a special dress up day? If she/he puts in their backpack, the others in the class might not know or... she could give everyone a note. It would depend if your kids will talk to friends at night. Maybe you could get an email from their teacher;) that says they are having a Disney Day at school.

I'll miss ya - we are going 2/23-27...hey, that's next Saturday....:cool1:

:goodvibes YEAH! I am new here, but we are going march 4-8 also :yay: ! Were staying at the Tropicana Inn....Anyone go the same time last year? It would be great to hear a report of how it was. We fly in EARLY on the 4th!! Dont know if we are gonna hit the parks that day...
I have told my kids, it would have been neat to suprise them. My 4 year old doesnt understand time and I hear "why havent we left for disneyland yet," :confused3 like 4 times a day. I made her a calander that she can cross a new day off everyday with mickey ears on the 4th so she can SEE when we are going.

I have a stroller question....I have a 4 year old, 6 and 7yr olds. I am looking at buying a new stroller and have been debating between a joovy caboose and a combi that folds all up and has a shoulder strap to carry it. The joovy has a bench so one of the older kids could take a seat behind (its called a sit n' stand). The combi is really nice because its more lightweight and will be easier to bring on the plane......what would you choose.. ..???

I've got a Manhattan Dreamer - and that's been on over 20 flights and everywhere we go with my daughter. It's almost 30 pounds and I LOVE it, wouldn't even think of NOT bringing it - it's not overly heavy when you only fold it here and there anyway. Go with the bigger one with the sit & stand. Check out joggingstrollers.com - that's where I got mine and you might find some others you like even better. Service was awesome and I think the shipping is still free.

We are going 3/1-3/7...ill be wearing my 5 month old in a finding Nemo Sling...hope to see ya there!!!:yay:

I don't think I could do it! I have to talk about our trip daily. :goodvibes
We will just miss you. Will be getting to Anaheim on 3/9, for a 3 night stay.

I hope you come back and tell us all about it, and your kids responses. Soooo exciting!:yay:

DW and I are planning a surprise trip, departing this FRIDAY, driving to San Diego to do Sea World and Legoland on Saturday/Sunday, then moving up to Anaheim to do DLR next Tuesday-Friday (Feb 19-22).

The surprise approach has been (surprisingly) easy in keeping a secret from DS6 and DD4.

We are picking them up from their schools on Friday at lunchtime and telling them as we get on the highway. :rotfl:

I've meant to do a pre-trip report & post on the DIS, but have been overwhelmed with work/life etc. Will definately do a post-trip report, as I plan to take pics of the various food items we get, including a tigger tail.
