I am sure this has been asked a bizillion times but could you guys tell me what day you think is the best to book a flight (cheapest). I hate missing a deal!

When you go through Expedia or Priceline or places like that you can't hold a flight right?

Says that the best time is Wednesday from midnight to 1 am (in the airline's home base time zone). They used AARP as a source. I can confirm that it is in the very early morning because my parents have a friend that books his airline tickets at 3am because that's when the seats are released for the airline he likes to fly.

Wow..I don't know if I can pull that off!!! Thank you though.

Wow..... waiting until today screwed me. ORD to PHX went up $35.00 a flight! My DH is gonna kill me since he told me to book last night. Now I debate about waiting until tomorrow?? I hate these decisions!!!!! I have a stomach ache!

Don't worry, just keep watching them there is a good chance they will come down again. I watched Northwest airfares for two weeks for my mom to fly down in May. They changed daily. The highest usually on the weekends, lowest either on Monday or Wedsnesday.

I also did the same thing, was looking for airfare (frontier and southwest) from sdf to las one night, found a great rate, thought I would wait until the next morning to book (because it was late and I was tired) and it jumped by 60 bucks :scared1: , now I'm waiting again, hoping they will come back down. :sad2:

I wonder if the rates were down yesterday because it was a holiday and I should have nabbed them! I did call today and put a fare on hold in case it goes up again!!!!!! I guess they can still up my price though can't they. Well at least I would have the flights. I hate the pressure playing this game!

SIL told me the same thing. I happened to be online at 2:00 am one morning and decided to check, got a great deal, but I was so sleepy! The next morning I thought I just had a dream:laughing: !

Did you do this recently?

Anyone know where US Airways is based????

OK the price stayed high today:headache: and it's a Wednesday! I am so bummed I didn't book on Monday now. I could have save $33.00. Now I don't know when it will be too late to get the flights. Should I just book it tonight? I have a flight on hold via the phone until midnight. Maybe their price went down over night?? Doubt it. I am bummed.

It was last July or August when I booked and it was with Airtran (only direct flight in our airport now). USAirways are based in Charlotte I believe.

Thanks. I think I am going to be paying the extra $33 tonight...I am getting nervous.

Have you had any better luck??

I did the same thing your doing. I booked our Disney package through Disney Travel and I usually add on flights through them. This year I wanted to use my American Airline vouchers that I have. I checked 2 weeks ago, I could of gotten a round trip from Chicago to Orlando for 4 people for $500.00 including my vouchers!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid me.....my husband said just to wait a few weeks..for what???? I just booked our flight through American, the cheapest I found was $1300 for the 4 of us!  I was so stupid not to book as soon as I found the deal! GRRRRRRR. Just book it as soon as you find the deal you want... Disney travel's price would of been $1600 for the 4 of us for air, so I guess I saved a bit if you look at it that way??:confused3

What did you end up doing?

I am going to book the higher fare tonight. Monday was $277 tonight is $310...Could be worse but it still pisses me off!

Hi
I just rechecked again today and they did drop back down, but, still not as cheap as before :headache: . I'm just going to hang tight and hope for the best :wizard:. I hope I don't regret that decision :scared:.
Edited to add: Not sure if you have ever checked out this sight, but, I like it. Here ya go:
