Suze Orman on Oprah today...

I rarely watch Oprah, but I caught a few minutes yesterday and during the break they posted the ad for today's show. Apparently they will be providing an update on one of the families that they showcased in a prior show. They referred to the family as the one where the mom shopped them into bankruptcy. I find these types of shows interesting and sad at the same time...

oh is it that one California couple where the wife had like $6k hair extensions, she was spending about $600 a month at Starbucks, and the little boy had 2 shirts in his closet?

Those people where nuts! :scared1:

If you go to Oprah's website you can get a preview of the show - I don't get home in time to watch it.

Not sure I believe this, but the woman and her husband claim they collect aluminum cans and when they have enough from the deposits, then they treat themselves to Starbucks...looks like she also cut her hair short so no need for extensions.

can you sell used hair extensions on EBAY?

I hate Suzie Orman but I actually watched the show today. The lady at the end said she ripped the extensions out with plyers. :scared: They have also set up medical and life insurance policies for the family and the kids have been to the dentist.
They said the search for cans on the weekends and then use the money for Starbucks and that she applied for a job there. :rotfl2:

Did they end up selling their house that Suze clearly stated they couldn't afford, though? If not, I think that they've also made a trip to the bank of mom and dad, which Suze begged them not to do. That woman needed mental help. I doubt that she's really reformed at all.

Hey there's nothing wrong with working at Starbucks to defray your latte costs. That's what I do.

No, they have not sold their house yet. they do claim it is in the market, though. She has not gotten a job yet-which shows me she is not fully commited. Her kids look like they are all school age! But they do have insurance.

I love Suze Orman!

I just watched the show. It was a great show today. I like Suze when she does the PBS specials or when she's on Oprah. I do not like her own show when she's just ranting at everyone who calls in.

My apartment is a wreck. Partly the problem is it's very small and I have never solved the problem of where to store & organize things. Suze's heart to heart with that black woman, telling her that when her house is in chaos, she's in chaos and was disrespecting her own self, hit home for me. I had started to slowly get more organized even before the show. Cleaning up my own home will better help me clean up areas of my life.

I can't believe the husband who spent $1000 for golf clubs. I always wonder why people can't shop on eBay for quality "gently used" or even "brand new in the box" old items that other people never got around to using. They could save a bundle & still appear to keep up with the Joneses, which is what it's all about for them.

That segment with the woman with the hair extensions was interesting. She looks sooo different now. Not even like the same woman. It had nothing to do with the extensions. She looked more real now. She was so plastic & artificial before.

And is it just me, or does she look like her bustline is smaller? :scratchin She looked like she was busting out, in some pink cami, shopping in an old segment. Did she lose some fake b**bs along with the hair extensions? :p

No. I don't think you can take those things back.

:rotfl: I guess I meant that she had been wearing those chicken cutlet thingies and took them out along with the hair extensions.
