On Sunday, our beloved Patriots are playing in the AFC Championship game. :cheer2: We are staying at the Poly and plan to watch it there a tthe Pool bar, so that DD11 and DD8 can play in the pool, etc, while we watch the game. We have 2 families of friends from home that are planning to come and watch the game with us, but are NOT staying at the Poly. Is that going to be ok??? I know that you aren't supposed to use a pool in a resort that you're not staying at, but will it be a problem for them to come watch the game with us??? :confused3

TIA! :thumbsup2

It should be fine. My parnets live in FL & meet us. When we take the kids to the pool they always come to hang out and have a drink (do not swim).

They have never been questioned.

I would check when you are at the resort. The pool is for resort guests only. If they say it is ok then no problem.

Just wanted to say I'll be at the game Sunday in 10 degree weather while you bask in the Florida sun at the Poly. Then in 4 weeks I'll be the one basking in the Florida sun at the Poly while wearing my 2007 World Champion Patriots cap!!!:thumbsup2

YA BABY!!!! Awesome Ron! My DH is a season ticket holder so he is a little conflicted about missing the game! The Pros - we will be at DISNEY WORLD, and we sold his 2 tickets for $250 (face value :scared1: ). The Cons - he will miss the tailgate, the game, watching them reach 18-0.

If anyone is at the Poly Sunday you will see me in my Kevin Faulk jersey, DH in Ty Warren and DS in Richard Seymour. Hee. :goodvibes

sj, I'm a season ticket holder also so I can feel your husbands pain, but since he's not going to be at the game, what better place to be watching it from than the pool bar at the Poly in WDW?!?!?

Have fun and GO PATS!!!:woohoo:

Thanks!

DH just emailed me to say that the forecast for Saturday is high of 58, so I'm not sure about hanging by the pool. Granted that will feel warm to us :rotfl:
But, I am wondering now about going to the Tambu lounge instead. I don't think they normally open that early (???) but maybe they will for the game???? :confused3

Have you ever attempted to watch TV at the Poly pool bar? DH and I sat out there and had some drinks last September and there were just a few stools around the bar and the TVs were mounted up inside the little bar hut thing and not really all that viewable from farther away. Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I think it would be a kinda crappy place to watch the game with a group of people. It wouldn't be bad for just sorta monitoring the score, but not so great if you really wanted to really watch.

Thanks so much for this input! I had asked about this a few times, but not really gotten much response. I am starting to think that based on that and the weather, this might not be the best option. We'll check on the Tambu Lounge (DH says he looked it up and it doesn't open til' 5:00 - so that might not work). Anyone have any other suggestions other than that???? Is there a place at the Contemporary or GF that might be better?????

Thanks so much for the help - this is a hugely important thing for DH (and the rest of us too!).

Evergreen's sports bar is at Shades of Green (walking distance from Poly). It has big screen TV and multiple screens. It is open to the general public (not just military. When you drive/walk onto the compound, they will want to see ID - DL is fine, just tell them that you are going to Evergreens. They have a full bar plus food, lots of seating, a video arcade and are right next to the pool. Although you aren't supposed to use the pool if you're not staying there, no one is going to question your kids if they swim while you watch the game. I always stay there and they never ask to see a key, even when you get your towels. Have fun!:cheer2:
