Laundry at SOG

We will be staying at SOG for the first time this May. Anyone out there who has used their laundry facilities? Do the dryers take as long to dry as the WDW dryers? Do they have soap you can buy there or do have to bring your own? Thanks!

We've stayed at SoG twice in the past and their laundry room is GREAT! The one we used was on the 3rd floor of the new section but I'm not sure if they have another laundry room somewhere else in the hotel. The room is big with counter space for sorting clothes. There's lots of washers and dryers and a machine in the corner sells Tide, Cheer and I think one other type of detergent. It also sells dryer sheets. We usually get all our clothes dried in either 1 or 2 cycles of the dryer. In my opinion the SoG laundry room is superior to any of the laundry rooms in the Disney resorts I've stayed at. Hope that helps

SoG has two laundry facilities. One in the new section and one in the old. I have never had a problem using it. I do bring my own detergent as it is cheaper to just buy a jug at WalMart. We usually go with all our kids and grandkids plus friends so we do a lot of laundry.

We wash mid trip then again the night before leaving. Easier to pack clean clothes!! And disappointing enough to have to leave, don't want to face laundry at home as well.....:sad1:

The laundry facilities were great. The best thing is, I felt completely comfortable walking away and leaving the clothes during each cycle. I just checked on them a couple of times. SInce it wasn't busy, there was never anyone waiting for a machine. I normally don't do laundry on vacation, but it was necessary because we were going on a cruise right after and needed some of the clothes I'd been wearing.

PLease don't feel totally confident that just because this is a military facility people will be honest all the time. We have had clothes disappear from a dryer July 06 (not the entire dryerful of clothes, just 3 pairs of swimming trunks:confused3 ). Anyway, now I just sit in one of the chairs and watch tv while my clothes are washing/drying.

I found the best time to do clothes is really late at night (midnight).

I know they have vending machines for laundry soaps, etc but can someone verify if they have something a bit larger than sample size detergent in the AAFES? That could be more economical if it is available. I always bring my own bottle, but was wondering for others.
