Our family is already booked for the week of Feb 2-9 at the WL. In anticipation I frequently go to disney.com I did a room search for our dates and the only Resort that has room is Saratoga Springs. Is this possible that even the All-Star resorts are fully booked? If so, what will this mean for crowds during our stay? This is our first ever trip to Disney World and our first vacation in 10 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't get too worried just yet. We'll be there the same week, so I've been checking the hotels too, but on a daily basis. I don't now what your idea of crowded is but it shouldn't be that bad. The hotels really aren't anywhere near to being fully booked up. There is availability at Disney World for every single day during your trip. Just not at the same hotel for every day. There might even be openings for every day at the same hotel, but just not in the same room class. For example, they may have the 2nd through the 5th available with standard views and the 6th through the 9th available with water view, but since they are different catagories, the website will say there is no availability for that week. Hope that helps some.

This is the reason All Stars is full... National Dance Team Championship (February 1-3, 2008), National High School Cheerleading Championship (February 8-10, 2008) Most people attending these events stay at the All Stars..

Expedia shows no availiblity

Travelocity only shows the Dolphin.

People here don't realize that the southern half of the state basically leaves at Mardi Gras.Tons go skiing but tons go to WDW. It's going to be more crowded than many expect although I'm happy to report that some of the offsite hotels have some openings.

I guess whatever the crowd level is it is still better than being in the Northeast as we are getting a foot of snow today. If I don't have to shovel I will be happy!!!!

I'm from New Orleans so I know a lot of us leave for Mardi Gras and I know you were exagerating when you said half the state leaves but I think you might be pleasantly surprised by the crowds. Last year was horrible because it was the same week as Presidents week. MY last 2 trips were Presidents week and Thanksgiving, so no matter what, the crowds will seem great to me. Because I know they won't be that big.

how can i book some nights at one hotel and then transfer to another for the rest b/c of availability. i am from new orleans and trying to find a room for mg.

easy just do it. in your case would definitely call CRO and let them book it. their computers allow them to look easier than you could do it.

tell them you want to stay at WDW hotels the entire week no matter how many times you have to change hotels.

I was also trying for a long weekend Feb 1-4, with no luck. The Cm told me that in addition to the Natl Dance/cheer comps, there are many conventions going on as well the week before that weekend and the week after, so all the mods are booked as well. Good luck!

Will will be there (All Star Sports) for Disney's Field Hockey Showcase that is being held Feb 7-10, 2008. It looks like it is going to be a packed week!

The resorts being booked doesn't necessarily mean that the parks are going to be crazy crowded. It's not like everyone in every resort will be going to the same park on the same day. They will spread out to the four parks as well as to all the other offerings that Disney World has.

You can't control the tourist patterns. So don't worry about things that are out of your hands. If this is the first vacation in ten years, you need to relax and have fun!

My SIL will be at CSR for a convention from Feb. 8-12. Families are welcome on the trip. The accommodations are at CSR and the meetings are also at CSR. (Not sure what the convention is, he's a private contractor for the USG, so it sounds big.)
