In June we'll be staying at Cypress Point for the first time and I'm trying to figure out how many meals we'll probably need to do in the parks and where we can eat (conveniently) off-site. What restaurants are nearby and which ones will we pass going to and from the Disney parks? TIA:)

Just about any restaurant you can imagine is there. From the top of my head: Chilli's, Sizzler, a Chinese restaurant (sorry can't remember the name), Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Bahama Breeze, Uno's Pizza, Jungle Jim's........
Plus you are right outside of the DTD entrance so all of the restaurants there are close to you.

I have eaten at Chillis, Uno's, Bahama Breeze, Olive Garden and Red Lobster. They were all verry good and the service was great at each one.

Also Steak n Shake, Macaroni Grill, and Giordano's.

Go to Google Maps and type in the address for Cypress Pointe then click on the find business and type in that box restaurants. Then you'll have a map showing where the restaurants are in relationship to CP and WDW.

we stayed at cp in May and did j.j. on arrival night, terrible, yuck but there is a grocery store inside that shopping center to get food for the resort, there is a nice crab shack across the street I think it had swings for the kids. You are not far at all from downtown disney, so try rainforest cafe, there is also a family rest. across the street that was both buffet and off the menu, this worked great for our big family. also mcd's, that was a quick cheap brkfst in the car before the parks. My ds8 yr. old got sick and thankfully there is a rite aid or cvs right next dr. very convenient...the only thing i didn't like was no lifeguards at the pool and kids were climbing into the slides and when you yelled at them, so your kids could go down, they didn't care, no parents anywhere...

Jungle Jims has closed. But right outside the entrance is Giordano's (great pizza & Italian), Steak & Shake, NY China Buffet, a Mexican place, an a Sizzler. Across the street - still walkable easily - is Chili's, Shoneys, Macaroni Grill, Joe's Crab Shack. About a block up is Pizza Hut, Olive Garden, Uno's, Chevy's, McDonalds, TGIF, Perkins, Denny's IHop and more. Down Palm Parkway is Cici's, Kobe, The Crab House and more I'm forgetting. You will NOT go hungry or lack for choices.

Orlando Ale House is right down the road. I never thought to go there with young kids until I heard about it on the DIS podcast last year. Family friendly and reasonable prices. I think almost every other place was mentioned in the other postings. Try their Captain Jack's dessert if you go.

Oh wow, there are even more restaurants in the area than I'd thought. That's great news cause we're trying to avoid eating so many meals in the parks this time. If I'm gonna spend over $30 on lunch I'd really like to get something other than burgers & fries for my money. I'm also looking for some variety for my little girl - most of the children's menus in the park restaurants offer little that she will eat and even a 5yo gets tired of chicken nuggets eventually. Thanks for all the information - now I can kinda nail down the 2 or 3 ADRs I want to make and all my trip arrangements will be made. (Just got the confirmation from the travel agent on our condo. Yay!) Now I can focus the rest of my trip planning on park touring strategies and such. Thanks again.:)
