Hi, we leave on the 14th of January and are traveling with 2 sets of 4/5 year old twins. This is our first time staying at CBR. Does anyone have any advice for this resort? Where should we request are rooms, what is the best spot with children, are the bus waits really that bad??

Any info you could share would help!!

:yay:

I stayed at CBR the first time as an adult this past December. It was just the two of us but we had the most wonderful time!!

The only thing I could recommend is that paying for the "Preferred" room location was definitely worth it! We were in the Trinidad North building that was close to both the main pool (which will be closed during your trip unfortunately) BUT it does put you within a very short walk from where you could buy food. It was fantastic for us because we didn't have to wait for a bus to refill our mugs to take to the pool.

I think you'll love CBR. :goodvibes The atmosphere was so relaxing we loved it!! We loved watching the lifeguards play games with the kids in the pool. Everyone was just so happy and pleasant we had a fantastic time!

CBR is a beautiful resort. Make sure you take some time to lay in a hammock on the beach. The quiet pools are nice. Just try not to get stuck staying in Trinidad South. It is reaalllly far away from everything. We had to rely on the internal bus system to get us to the main building and sometimes we waited forever for a bus. If you are within easy walking distance of Port Royale, then you should be fine. Enjoy your stay!

If you plan on doing many of your meals at CBR, which I would not recommend, then I would request Martinique. I believe, however, that Martinique is all preferred. Otherwise, I would recommend Jamaica. It is the first stop for the park buses, and it is at the foot of the bridge that takes you across the lake to Old Port Royale.

Have a nice trip!

I actually thought the food court was pretty good for what it was. :rolleyes1

The food court was fine, but I had heard that it was above average in terms of selection, but we did not find that.

What I meant by my comment about not using the food court for many of your meals was that it eats up a lot of time (ok, pun intended!). It's far more time efficient, we have found, to eat within the parks, and to make ADR's.

The taste of the food was average, but DW was not happy that they did not offer milk shakes and an ice cream bar like Pop did!

We stayed at CBR in 2005 when my DD princess: was 4 and just fell in love with it. I believe we stayed in Jamaica building 46 and it was great. It was about a 5 minute walk (since she was still in a stroller) to Old Port Royale to fill up our drink cups and go swimming in the main pool. Although we really enjoyed our quite pool in Jamaica better. The buses were great only about 5 - 10 minute wait to get to the parks. Coming back especially from MK was longer. You are going at a good time so you shouldn't have any problems. Room is plenty big enough and has a nice privacy curtain between the bathroom area and bedroom. Mousekeeping was very good and my DD received towel animals every day that we brought home and she still has. I even sprinkled a little glitter under her pillow evernight and had a tiny gift that was left from tinkerbell for her. She loved that but made sure to clean off the glitter after she got up. All in all had a great time and you will too!!! Have Fun!! :yay:

If you will have a stroller (especially) you may want to request a ground floor room. The resort does not have elevators.

Have a great time!

We just got back from CBR yesterday. We stayed in a preferred room in Martinique. The location was terrific. It was really quiet but close to the main building. That location was definitely worth the money.

We were pleased with the bus service. We usually waited no more than 5 minutes or so for a bus.

I agree wholeheartedly. The first few times we stayed at CBR we were lucky enough to request a room in Martinque, close to Port Royale, and we got it. Now that they have the preferred rooms we are sure to get one....saves so much time. We love the CBR..it is like a little bit of paradise.

Get A Preferred Room If Available....they Are Much Closer To The Action (food Court, Pool, Etc.). The Cb Resort Is The Largest Of All The Moderate Resorts, So There Is A Lot Of Walking Involved. My Dd And I Stayed In Trinidad North Last Year. It Was Well Worth The Few Extra Dollars I Paid For Each Night! We Were Also Super Close To Our Private Island Pool And Laundry...just 2 Doors Away!

Also, Spend An Hour On The White Sand Beach Near Your Room On A Hammock And Take A Nap!!!!!! Great Afternoon Activity!!
