hello everyone,
i was just wondering if they have pairasailing at cc?
i remember there was an issue about not having a company..
so i was wondering if they have one yet?
my family will be sailing in February and my dd would love to pairasail.

thanks in advance for all the infoo.:cool1:

Just letting you know that when our DD parasailed at CC, they made her tandem with another young lady. (DD was 19 or so at the time.) She went along with it but what struck her as odd was that this girl's Mom also participated and they didn't match her and her daughter up.

I understand that there are weight restrictions. I know DD could have gone on her own without that being a problem and from her perspective, the Mom and DD would have been okay as a tandem.

I don't know if there's a specific policy about this. Just letting you know what my DD's experience was like.

We have done it numerous times and my daughter and I have always gone up together.

What's the prices on that? DS7 did it for his birthday at the CR and LOVED it. He thought it was free and wanted to do it again. Jeez. Kids have no concept of money.

From the DCL Cruise website:$75.00 per person ages 8 and up. Minimum weight 90 lbs., maximum weight 375 lbs. At the captain's discretion, Guests may be required to sail tandem depending on weather conditions. For guests wishing to ride tandem, the combined weight cannot exceed 375 lbs. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older. Guests between the ages of 13-17 need to have Waivers signed by their Parent/Guardian.

My DH got to parasail at CC last January. He loved it. It was just long enough and the views were amazing.

He also was forced to tandem with someone he didn't know and a lady to boot. He was very uncomfortable having to be that close to another woman that wasn't his wife. She was also noticeably uncomfortable.

He does want to do it again on our next cruise . . only this time his lovely wife (being me . . .LOL) will be the one going tandem with him.

My advice . . if you have the $$ to spend it is well worth it . . . just bring two people if you are uncomfortable flying high in the air with a stranger.

Just to let you know, I tried to book parasailing last week at 105 days out for the same month you are sailing (February). The online booking wouldn't allow it as it said it was unavailable. I e-mailed the concierge and the response was that it was unavailable at this time but that she would continue to check and e-mail me if the situation changed. I hope they will have it, but it does seem that it has been "on again/off again" lately.

WOW!! I don't think this is fair at all. First, there's the discomfort factor and second, they charge you just as much as the person who's allowed to sail solo.

Good for your DH that he wants to do it again. My DD's experience left a bad taste and she never wanted to repeat it.

This is bad, when I am quoting myself!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Just got another e-mail from DCL. It states that they are currently doing parasailing with "a minimum of 10 people" so to continue checking back. I have no idea what that means. I'm not sure if they mean that 10 people have already booked it or if they need a minimum of 10 people to hold the excursion???? I was still advised to "keep checking". They were able to book it however - at least that is what the e-mail said.

Sorry to confuse anyone, but I am a little confused myself.:confused3

Just got back from a 7 day cruise and my family did parasail at CC. My DD is 8 and DS is 12 and we loved it. FYI - the reason they make you tandem is a safety issue when it is windy. It was very windy with us and like others were required to tandem. The weight actually helps you stay in the air keeping the parachute completly open.

When we went there were two boats working at the same time. Each boat had 8 people in it so I am not sure what the 10 person restriction is about.

BTW - IT WAS AWESOME AND WELL WORTH IT!!!
