Watching World Series on board?.. Go Rockies!

Our beloved Colorado Rockies are in the World Series :cheer2: DH is freaking because we're cruising for the 1st time on the Oct 27th Eastern right in the middle of the games. There has to be a sports bar that will be showing the games right? Anyone know the time difference in the Carribbean? Do the stateroom tv's get cable channels? Thanks!

The World Series is on the Fox Network and most of the in-room channels are Disney owned, including ABC, ABC Family, the Disney Channel, several ESPN channels, Discovery, Discovery Travel, CNN and CNN Headline. So I doubt they pipe it into the room.

However, they will certainly try to carry the World Series in the sports bar. I've read that there can be times when the satellite doesn't cooperate, but they'd do their best.

Yes, they will probably show the WS games. When we cruised in '04 I watched the Red Sox ALDS games in Diversions. I kept running into this guy who was a Yankees fan who continued to tell me that the Sox were "going down". Well...the Sox won and went on to the ALCS, playing against the Yankees. Oh, how I would have loved to be onboard with that guy during the last four games of that series! (For those who don't know what happened, the Sox made baseball history by coming back from being down 3 games to none to win the series 4 games to 3...against the Yankees!)

Anyway...as I sit here watching the Sox game I digress...yes, you should be able to watch the series. If the Sox are the team playing your Rockies you can think of me, here at home, cheering in the opposite direction. ;)

DH just said that he wants to pack up and leave Cleveland.:crazy:

Sorry. As a long-time Red Sox fan I feel your pain. :sad1:

Your WS victory drought is nowhere near what ours was, but if the Indians do win this series I will be rooting for them to take it all. But I'm really hoping they don't win this series. Sorry again.

It's just that Cleveland always chokes. Doesn't matter which team it is. Seems that they can only get so far and that's it. :confused3

:thumbsup2 GO ROCKIES:thumbsup2

We are partners in 4 season seats and we drew game 5 of the WS if it goes that long. I would love to go to that game, but if the Rockies sweep I won't be heartbroken about missing the game.

:cheer2: :cheer2: Go Rockies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

I've been sitting here all day debating whether to go down and get in line on Monday morning, since it's a line-lottery for home-game tickets!!

Honestly tho? I'd LOVE to be watching them win from the deck of the Magic or Wonder up on the Jumbotron!! :)

Certainly warmer!! (It's supposed snow here tonight in Denver! Tomorrow's night Bronco game is gonna be collllllld!!)

:woohoo::woohoo:

Oh ragdoll, I hear you! The Sox have been breaking our hearts for decades! They always get thisclose to making it and then...don't. 2004 was a dream come true for those of us in Red Sox Nation. Like I said, if we don't win tonight I'll be rooting for the Indians to go all the way. Sorry Rockie's fans.

It should be played in the sports bar, if they are receiving a signal. We just got off the Magic on Saturday and last Sunday they had the large screen tv and four smaller screened tvs playing a different NFL game. They first went around to everyone asking them to vote on which game they wanted to watch on the large screen, the game with the most votes got in that one.

We did loose the signal several times early in the games but they always got it back. They reminded us that we were on a "moving ship" and the weather that day was very overcast.

I think he has a very good chance of seeing it while on the ship. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

You won't have to stand in line for tickets. They are only available online through the Rockies website. That makes it easier and a lot warmer!:)

Wooooo HOOOO:banana:

My son got to go to one of the playoff games against the Diamondbacks, but that will be it for us! I heard there is only 17,000 available seats, and with ticket brokers going after them on the internet, I don't think we stand a chance.

We are old/loyal fans - but we also got use to paying $8 at King Soopers for great seats. :thumbsup2

It is so exciting for Colorado and I am so happy for Todd Helton! :goodvibes

They did have the playoff games on the jumbotron last week. I probably wouldn't have noticed, but I happened to climb into the hottub with a group of ladies who were huge Rockies fans and were watching the game while enjoying the tub.

Oh that was just stupid of them - their website is bad enough without being slammed by WS ticket seekers.
They should've left the prior announcement about sales at the park alone.

Other than the reception issue, you should have no problem seeing the series.
It's not like the NFL or College Football where you have more games on that there are TV's.
Bet Fox let's them put it in the staterooms too........this years pairing isn't what Foxed had hoped for (no big national interest in these teams), so they need all the viewers then can get. They expect to lose money on this year's pairing.

<CraftyMouse clears her throat...ahem, ahem...>

What???

<CraftyMouse does not agree with TVGuy. Clearly he does not understand the national appeal of the Boston Red Sox. CraftyMouse shakes her head.>

Actually, I'm with you on this.
All of the sportscasters have been saying all day that this is a great pairing, because Boston has such a huge following and Colorado is kind of the 'underdog' - they're already saying it's a David v. Goliath kind of thing - and I suspect it will do just fine.

:rolleyes:

You Gotta Be Kidding Me!!!!!!!

Have you seen how any Sox fans are in the stadiums when they play on the road?

GO SOX!!!!!!

Last year we were on the Wonder during the World Series, and we watched the Cardinals and Tigers play on the Ariel View Screen by the pool. It was a Spanish language station that was broadcasting, but we were still able to see all of the game. It was great....especially when the Cards won!

Yeah, the only time the Orioles sell the stadium out anymore is when the Red Sox or Ya***es (sorry, DH won't let me say their name) are playing there...
