Driving down from GA, parking at port?

We will be taking our first ever cruise on the Wonder, Dec 2. We will be driving down from Atlanta the day before. My current plan is to stay near the port the night before, and then spend a couple of days at WDW after. Since we will have our own car, what is the best option for parking? Should we park at a hotel and take a shuttle, or park at the port? Is there covered parking? How much does parking cost?

Thanks for any advice or opinions!

I have a hire car often for three weeks in Florida and for a week it stays at PC, its easy, I arrive drop familiy and luggage off and park, last time I was so close to the terminal I didnt really need a porter at the end to assist us.

The cost is ok, its quoted in the usful information thread above but its the quickest way to 'get away' afterwards. I was able to see my car form our room on the ship it was so close.

The Radisson at the port offers free parking. Other hotels do too but you have to pay for the shuttle to the port. Radisson has a free shuttle service.

Parking is 12$ per day to park at the port. It is in a secure area, but I would vote for parking at a hotel that lets you park for free during your cruise, and many offer the shuttle... We just stayed at the Best Western, and they offer the service. The shuttle is 3$ per person to the port...

After a DCL cruise and being looked after so well do you want a shuttle!

I have never taken the shuttle, as I am famous for being the EARLY EARLY BIRD...:teeth:...I was at the port at 9:30 AM last week. We usually take a taxi to the port. However, we rented a car this time, and my hubby dropped us off at the port, and that was a breeze.....

I don't know if I would mind being on a shuttle, if it was at a decent time, before of after the cruise. I love having my own timeline..

I thought I was early last time in PC-2006 I was outside at 10am but they didnt let cars in until 10.30am, had a Taxi in Barcelona and arrived for 9.40 and was in the terminal at 10am and they put a show on for us.

At PC you can park so close its worth it and with a familiy of four it saves a lot in transfers, but not sure what I am doing in 08 as I am on the repo so NO CAR!
