Just booked Hyatt MCO for May Cruise

Just booked a night at Hyatt MCO for our upcoming May Repo. I received a AAA discount. It came out to be approximately 170 dollars including the tax. I was suprised that FL tax was at 12.50%. I was debating Hyatt MCO with Marriott nearby. I am able to get a room at Marriott for free with my visa points. Did I make a good decision to book at Hyatt for $170? Yes, I am on a tight budget but I thought that $170 was worth it especially when I have three chilren (including my DH) to care for.

If you are flying in late, staying at the Hyatt is great (we've done it twice). If you're flying in late afternoon/early evening you might want to consider the Marriott, especially since you could get it for no charge. The Marriott is only about a 5 minute ride from MCO.

But at the Hyatt they will pick up your bags at the claim carousel and bring them to your room and they will check your bags all the way to the boat when you check out

I think the Hyatt is the easiest hotel when dealing with a tired family. Our flight doesn't even get in until 9:21 PM and having Hyatt deal with the bags is heavenly. We are also on the WB repo and are staying at the Hyatt MCO. Another one of us staying at the Hyatt MCO is on the same flight and will be dealing with DH and 4 boys!!!

You should come and join our thread as there are many others on the WB Repo staying at the Hyatt. We may even have a mini dis meet. One of the posters is helping to arrange transportation to the port which when split among many is usually cheaper than individual transportation.

We stayed at the Hyatt before both of our cruises. It was effortless!!! So EZ!! Hands down will be the way we will do it again. Speaking of effortless the entire cruise was effortless!! Thats why DH is so willing to keep cruising, it's a vacation for mom and dad too!! no cooking, no traffic, no clean up no worries just tons of family FUN!! We are looking forward to 09!

Not a stupid question... after you deplane, just go straight to the Hyatt rather than to the baggage carousel - go up the escalator to the front desk, and give your claim tickets to the Bell Captain at the desk - a Bellman will go and retrieve your luggage and put it in your room. There is apparently a small fee (some have said $10) plus you'll tip... but honestly? It will take you the same amount of time to retrieve your own luggage and navigate the airport to the Hyatt, but alot more stressful.

The Hyatt is the only way to go, it is more expensive than the Ho Jo down the street but worth every penny for the convince factor. Also to note on your return trip if you have a late flight out they have good rates on day use rooms

We also used the Hyatt before our cruise last May. We did go to the baggage area first and just had one of the guys with a large cart load our luggage for us and he took it all the way to the check in desk for us. Then the bell hop took it from there on another cart and took it to our room for us. I'd definately stay there again. After we checked out the room we went to dinner in the hotel and then back to the mall in the airport and had ice cream before bed!

We had a "just fine" time at the Hyatt a few weeks ago, but it was nothing special. The room was fine, but all was rather cold and impersonal, especially in contrast to Disney. They do make it easy for you in the morning, escorting you to where the bus leaves for the port, but it isn't especially hard to figure out yourself. I would go for the free hotel!
