Does anyone have any opinions or views for this camera? I know it's a kid camera just wondering if it's worth 50 bucks for a 4 year old. TIA

I don't have one, and after some of the reviews I've read, I don't plan to get them for my kids. I haven't decided exactly what I will get the kids yet, but I'm thinking a cheap HP or Kodak digital that they can share. But my kids are older, 9 and 6, and can use my Cybershot fairly well.

For a 4 year old, I'd recommend the Fisher Price "kid tough" camera. Its the same price as the Disney pix click, and while you'd be giving up the character aspect, I think the durability is worth it! We bought one for DD when she was 3, and it survived being dropped by clumsy little hands and all manner of well-meaning abuse. It also has a SD card slot to allow it to hold more pics, which is a great feature for once your child gets the hang of pointing the camera and starts getting shots worth keeping (or for if they just don't want to review the pics as they go).

Thank you so much for your response. I hadn't even heard good or bad reviews so I had no idea they had bad reviews. Thanks again.

My DS7 got the Disney Pix Max for Christmas last year. I have to say I am not overly impressed. It really is a struggle for him to take pictures indoors as you have to stay really really still for a couple of seconds or it goes blurry. The outside shots are better, as you don't have to wait for the flash, but I am still a little disappointed.

The default is no flash, so you have to manually change that each time you switch it on if you are indoors. He can take pretty good pictures with my camera, but this one he does struggle to stay still long enough. I'm not sure if the smaller pix one is any better. He's taking it to WDW next week, so I'm going to try and get him to take lots of shots outside, and see if we get on a little better.

Wow, my DD got one for Xmas, and the pictures were horrible. I would not print any of them. The durablity was gread but the quality was such a waste. A definet disappointment in our home.

Are you speaking of the Disney one or the FP one?

I have been looking at both for Christmas for my soon-to-be 4 year old. As of now I'm leaning toward the FP one.

We didn't have any complaints about the photo quality, but I went in knowing not to expect great things out of a 1MP camera, you know? We did print some of her pics as standard 4x6 prints, and they came out fine. Not professional quality by any means, but good enough for her little personal photo album. She mostly used it outdoors, though, so I'm not sure what kind of quality we'd have gotten in lower-light settings - indoors, she's always been allowed to use my point & shoot.

First I would like to say that I love going to WDW, like most people on here. However, I would caution anyone about buying into any of the "toys" that are even somewhat technologically advanced. We have bought 3 such items. One was an organizer, it got returned the next day. Part of the instructions said something like "if it doesn't work, hit it on a hard surface". Now that makes sense! It didn't work, and when I was done following the instructions, it would never work again! The other two were two versions of digital camera things. Both were returned. Never ever even got a pic from either one.

Now normally, this would just get me angry and I would get over it. However, when your DD gets all excited about a particular item and it turns out to be junk, well lets just say that I get REALLY angry.

Never again. My DD knows better now too. They just have a huge failure rate.

mine was the Fisher price, but we did use them in the house at Xmas time and even though we had lots of light, they did not turn out. Maybe i will get her to try the outdoors and see what we come up with.
