We went on Friday night - loved it - but man did it do a number on my allergies. Almost put me in bed I was so miserable yesterday.

Here are a few of the shots I got (my favorites). If anyone else was there - please feel free to post your photos as well. :)

nice photos...do they fly at night or just light them up?( that would seem to be a might scary but then again i don't think i'd ever get in one anyway)

They didn't launch at night on Friday. They did a launch around 6pm and then did the glow around 8ish but none of them left the ground then.

I would love to go up in one at some point - but it would be hard for me - I am scared of heights.

They were giving balloon rides - for $250.00 per person! :scared1:

I wish I would have been able to go back Saturday night - they were shooting off fireworks that night as well. But my allergies just wouldn't let me.

Kinda hoping someone else will post some more from Saturday.

Wonderful pictures!! I love to go and take picture at balloon festivals...its just amazing standing among them while they gently lift off the ground!!

That's something you just don't get to see in SW Ohio. :) Love the pictures, Jen. I would love to be there sometime, but I would pay the $250. It's one of the things on my "do before I die" list.

Hey Jen. We went on Friday night and got there a little later than anticipated so we ended up on the big hill if you know where I'm talking about. I wasn't happy with all the street lighting, etc that couldn't be avoided. Not sure why they didn't turn those out during the glow. :rolleyes1

Then on Sunday, I decided to head back out for the last launch. Unfortunately, the sky was dreadfully overcast and hazy making for tough shooting conditions and there were a minimal number of balloons due to the storms in the area and the increased wind. But, I tried to make something out of it nonetheless with most of mine being ground shots. I wish I would have had that blue sky you had for a background. Nice shots! :thumbsup2

NostalgicDad I am so glad you posted yours. I was hoping you would.

I know exactly what you are talking about when you said the big hill. We got there early and there was barely anyone around when we put our blanket down.

I like the perspective of not being right on "top" of the balloons. I wasn't able to get as wide of shots because we were so close.

You have a few that look very similar to one or two that I have. Great minds huh? ;)

Not sure how I missed this thread.

Love these hot air balloons! I wish we had stuff like this where I live. Beautiful. :)

Love hot air balloons! Your pics are beautiful! Seeing them glow at night must be so cool.

They sail over our house often. It's always a thrill.I'll spot them as they cross over the field while I'm cooking. Watching as they closer and closer bigger and bigger. The tricky part is clearing our trees. If they land the kids enjoy helping pack up.

I'm sorry you were sick. That isn't any fun.

Where is octoberfest and when?

I want so badly to go to more things like this - but with my allergies being as severe as they are it is very hard on me. I was outside for 20 minutes today and then miserable for 3 hours afterwards. It stinks!

I feel your pain. I have hayfever too. It's been bad outside lately.
Do they have fests any other time of the year? Our local balloon fest is held in July so it's not too bad. Ragweed hasn't bloomed yet.
DS & I get up early in the morning to follow them in our car with the roof open. There's a caravan of balloon chasers. That might work with your allergies. Difficult to take pics though.
The ballooners play a game on the first day where they drop flags on bases in various locations throughout town. Not always fields some parking lots. The closer the drop the higher the score. They have to come down and throw the flag then quickly zoom up.It's a good photo op:)

How beautiful!!! :thumbsup2

We see them from time to time around my area but in 2005 several came right over my house.

In January 06, we had one land right down the end of our street. That was really interesting.

Going up in one is something I really want to do.
