What is a Dole Whip?

What the heck is a Dole Whip, and why does everyone talk about them? I see them in signatues, I see them as tags, I see them in posts.

I gotta know!!

Dole Whips (in my opinion) are the absolute best snack in WDW. I especially like the pineapple flavored ones from Captain Cook's at the Polynesian.

Definitely try one, but for me they're really not all that. Refreshing, but the soft serve is bland. Next time I'm just getting the juice without the insult to pineapple floating in it.

I agree. I tried my first one at Disneyland last weekend. First I tried just the soft serve, then the next day tried the float. They were pleasant, but not all that exciting...

You should have a Dole Whip or a Dole Whip float just for giggles. You may love them and be obsessed, or you may agree with alot of us and find them to be nothing special. I'm not saying they aren't good, I just don't understand the obsession with pineapple soft serve at WDW. The float, IMO, is the best and is very refreshing on a hot day. We usually get one and share it between two or three of us. If you like pineapple, and you like ice cream then you'll like a Dole Whip. But, as others have said, they really aren't anything special..of course others have also said that they are to die for. Either way is fine, but you realy do need to try one to find out. If you like that kind of thing, you can also find both an orange swirl and a strwberry swirl at other places in the MK...they are just like the Dole Whip, only use those flavors with vanilla soft serve instead of pineapple and vanilla soft serve.

When we first discovered dole whip at Disney we ran a snack bar. Our quest was to find out where we could purchase it. It comes in a powder form and you mix with water then put in the ice cream machine. We would put the orange dole whip in one side and regular vanilla in the other and then you would have a great dreamiscle. Most everyone still loved the pineapple best.
