Crystal Palace: Wasn't too impressed this time.

Just got back from our Disney trip (9/9-9/14). I'm still suffering withdrawl and missing it terribly.

We were on the dining plan and had some really nice meals (Chefs de France) and some not so great (San Angel). Is it just me or is Crystal Palace's breakfast buffet not so hot this year? It seemed like there were just your standard breakfast items on there and last year if I recall, there were a lot more items on the buffet. Seemed like more salads and selection last year than this year. Anyone else feeling this isn't going to be on your "must do" list for the next trip?

I am sorry to hear this! We have an ADR for dinner for out upcoming trip and I certainly hope that has not changed! It has been a long time since we had breakfast at CP and I thought it was great. Sorry to hear yours was not so great! :(

I've never had them for dinner, though have always been meaning to. I hope your experience was better than ours. The food wasn't bad, just didn't seem to be worth the $ and the selection didn't seem so great.

We have ADRs for 5 pm, right before our MNSSHP on Sept 30. I will let you knwo! I was impressed with the dinner, but then again, I truly thought it would not be so great, so I was pleasantly surprised!

We always go to a late breakfast at CP. It's a tradition. Anyway, the last time we went was in May of this year and things had changed. We were not very impressed and decided it was the end of a great tradition. I love the French toast puffs or whatever they are called. They were at the kids station and not replenished very often. The character waffles were also different, and not for the better. Oh well, maybe I just don't deal well with change. :confused3

We weren't too impressed with the lunch offerings but we were looking forward to trying breakfast in December.

We went for dinner twice on our visit in Oct 2006, it was so good. Really a great variety. And too many dessert options to mention. We really liked the potatoes and the sliced roast beef. On my November trip I went for a late breakfast. It was very good, as it has been on all our previous trips. The breakfast lasagna is so wonderful, looks a little iffy, but yummy. The cooked to order omelets are very good too. We usually like to get a 8am seating with 9am park opening. We are good to go until dinner after that big morning meal.

We just returned last night and ate at CP before the very soggy MNSSHP last friday. My DD(26) and I weren't impressed at all. Food was fair although the salmon was really good. The shrimp was so-so, turkey was ok just not to our liking. The salad bar was lettuce and dressing no other sides like tomato, veggies etc.Key lime pie for desert was good; We were on the DDP and both decided we would not eat here again regardless if it was free or not. The character interaction was good even for my older princess!

Hi, wildernesslodgelover,

We have adrs for 4:55 at CP before the party! Wave if you see a short 60 year old with her DDIL, DS and 19 month old DGD with curly blonde hair and big blue eyes!

I have been dreaming about my breakfast experience since last year! It was so fabulous- hope it really hasnt gone downhill.:scared1:

Hi, wildernesslodgelover,

Will do! My DD8 will be dressed as a "half angel, half devil" and DH is an angel, I am a devil! I think we'll be easy to spot! LOL:lmao: My actual ADR time is 4 "something", can't remember right now. I am soooo looking forward to this meal, we have eaten dinner at CP about 4 times (breakfast twice) and have always loved it, but it has been almost a year since our last visit.

You sound like a really fun Grandma! I LOVE my mother, and she does so much with DD, but she has NO INTEREST in WDW, and I get a little jealous when I see 3 generations walking around WDW together! I bet you enjoy every second with your little granddaughter. It's a beautful thing!:hippie:

Dh and I also were just there for breakfast this past May (our 3rd trip in a row that we've had breafast there) and were not impressed this time. I think it is also the end of a tradition for us too. Besides I really want to try Kona for breakfast and we usually on do one sit down breakfast.

We were there around the same time (9/7-9/15) and did the Crystal Palace breakfast as well. We were very pleased. The buffet was constantly filled with fresh, hot items and we found the food to be quite good. The character interaction was the best we found all week - and we were a table of 3 adults!

I'm sorry you had a disappointing experience, but as for me I certainly plan on making the CP a tradition for my trips - we had a great time and enjoyed our meal!

CP is a must-do for me for breakfast, I really hope it hasn't gone downhill. Guess I'll find out first-hand in two weeks.

CP is a "must do" for us. It's DW's favorite breakfast spot. We have two ADR's for our upcoming trip 11/10 to 11/18.

there this summer. The food was very good. The salad selections went well beyond just lettuce and dressings. There were not a lot of sides but a number of different types of salads. The prime rib was falavorful but the cooking was uneven. The first slice was very rare which I like. They finished it off on the flat top for those wanting their meat done. The nex trip it was all medium to well. There were several other items I liked. The pork adobo was good and the spoon bread was very good.

We've enjoyed CP for breakfast once every trip for years, with our last visit a couple months ago in July. I didn't notice any changes at all to the spread, and they had everything that I'd always remembered, from breakfast lasagna to bagels & lox and everything in between. I'll be there this Saturday at 8:05 a.m. so I can check it out for myself, but what did they remove that I'm not remembering?

We were there for breakfast on 9/14. I thought the food was fine, nothing spectacular, but quite good. Our character interaction experience was terrible though. We never got to see Eeyore (spelling??). When we left, he was waaaaay on the other side of the room and we weren't going to wait for him to make it to us. When the other characters came by, they were in a super rush and it seemed like it was inconvenient for them to wait for their picture to be taken. This was very different than our previous experience there, which was fun - fun - fun with the characters. It was still a nice experience, but it wasn't great.
