Empty tables in booked up restaurants.

I can only assume there were many no shows during free dining. CMs were commenting on the empty tables in a few of the restaurants we dined at. What a shame that many guests couldnt eat where they wanted too. Ohana on a Friday evening - spare tables, Coral Reef evening - spare tables, Cali Grill during Wishes - spare tables.:sad2:

You know its also possible that they don't use a full staff during non peak times. Not that I'm saying that is right but maybe a restaurant says ok on such and such days we will only have x number of wait staff on the payroll. So in turn we will only service x number of customers.

It's because people with ADR's who don't show up don't do the right thing and cancel their ADR's so others can possible get them when they call. The OP said the CM's were questioning the open tables so that tells me they had plenty of staff to handle a full house.

I have not been able to keep my ADR on occasion and I always try and cancel. Very often I am on hold for a long time and give up. Disney should try to use an automated cancellation system by entering your ADR number. I think more people would cancel. Of course, there will always be those that don't.

I noticed the same thing last week. Evan at LeCellier for lunch...lots of empty tables. I had a reservation on the last day at Chef Mickey's at 5:10 and we finished Lecellier at 1:30 for lunch, deceided to cancel so someone else could have it and I walked up to the host at LeCellier and he did it for me right on the computer. Some people are too inconsiderate. I tried to change a few times while I was there to my current ressies to make them earlier...no luck everything was booked.

I feel your pain. I was actually at Le Cellier on Sept. 6th. ADR was for 6:10, we got there a little early, probably around 5:50. We weren't seated until 6:15....no big deal, right :confused3 ...until we get to our table and there are at least 8 empty tables just in the vacinity of our table! I couldn't help but think of all of the people who would have loved to have had dinner there that night and were turned away.:sad2:

Oh and by the way....4 of the 8 empty tables were never occupied during our entire meal. :confused3
