I'm going to try Jiko for the first time in a couple months, but the menu seems a bit exotic for me. Except for the filet mignon with mac n' cheese. How is this? It's not EZ Mac and shoe leather, is it? ;)

Does anyone have a picture of it?
Thanks! :)

If my memory serves me correctly, it is quite good. I will be going to Jiko's in Dec. with friends and I know this is a popular choice for many who like this restaurant..

Hi,

I do not have a picture of the meal but have eaten it on multiple trips to Jiko and it is outstanding. Do not think Kraft Mac'n Chese. You have to think elbow pasta in a mixture of four or five cheeses with an amazing piece of filet on top with a wine sauce on top of that. It is a great meal.

It is awesome! My DDs and I are not meat eaters, but every time we have steak at home now I have to make home made mac and cheese with it. They loved the combo and the filet and mac and cheese at Jiko were top notch.

Thank you everyone for your responses. :flower3: That pic looks delicious. I cannot wait to try Jiko!

It is amazing - if it works I have a photo of my meal from last week:thumbsup2

Your links aren't working. :)

I just ate there a couple of weeks ago. It was delicious and without a doubt, the best meal we had in the 2 weeks we were there (I did have the filet mignon). It was also the best service I think I've ever had anywhere!!

Hey, I love your pics of the Dream Fastpass. We were there two weeks ago and we got Dream Fastpasses too! Wasn't it thrilling?

It was awesome!!!:yay: I knew we were getting them cause the Disney Dream team was standing there waiting for us to watch the video and all I could do was bounce with anticipation. I literally cried getting on Dinosaur. Pathetic I know, but it was our last day and I thought we weren't going to get one this trip.

So was yours for Animal Kingdom then? We got ours at MK, right when we exited Splash Mountain. It was BRILLIANT!

Yep, Dinosaur, right after the preshow and before we boarded!

The filet and Mac and Cheese is wonderful. The mac and cheese is made with a bunch of different kinds of cheeses and tastes great with the red wine sauce. I love Jiko and I'm not a super adventurous eater. I also love the braised short ribs and the lamb shank.

I dont know why the photos are not working but if you go to the Uk Boards in the trip reports and find The Days Do Disney - Day 3 you will see the photos.:thumbsup2

My DH thought the filet was one of the best he'd ever had and he is a steak man. Also, he thought the mac and cheese was boring and nothing too exciting at all. He was disappointed because here he was at Jiko and all he got was a great steak...he could've gotten that somewhere at home. But if you are not adventurous, you can't go wrong with it for sure.

that I had the Sturgeon and it was FANTASTIC....not fishy and super tasty. If you like fish, this would be a good choice too!!

We had dinner at Jiko August 2007 and had the filet with mac n cheese with the red wine sauce. We are adventurous eaters, and although the steak was good, and the mac n cheese was good, we found the red wine sauce to be WAY too salty. It overpowered everything.... and I am a red wine drinker so it wasn't the wine flavor, someone went a little overboard with the salt!
