Anyone have a clue what she is asking for? When I further questioned her she said that her firends got them in their pictures when they were at WDW with the princesses this summer. Help???:goodvibes
And do the flashing icecubes only work the one time, or can they be use again?

They have a switch and you can change the tempo of the flashing, or completely turn them off. We unknowingly got them in our cocktails at Sci-Fi Drive in, but you can get them all over the place at WDW...

I know you can get the flashing ice cubes at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. I'm sure there are other locations.

They're run by battery, and I believe you can turn them on and off by gently hitting them against a hard surface.

We got ours at the Sci-Fi as well but I am pretty sure that they are available at 50's Prime Time as well. Good Luck!

We got some at the Coral Reef in Epcot and House of Blues in DTD

Lots of fun. Well worth the $4.00 extra you had to pay.

Switch on, strobe, turn off, look like real ice cubes

I got one in a martini I had at the bar at the AKL. it was pretty cool. they cleaned it off for my DD to take home when I was done w/ the drink. she still plays with it and it glows a really cool Blue.

I have gotten at:
Sci Fi
50's prime time in mickey's be bop drink (cherry flavored sprite)
Chef Mickey's it was differant had a yellow tint to cube.
I also seem to recall seeing them around toy story pizza planet.

That's where mine came from. Such a lovely, lovely drink. Comes in a plastic regular size cup with a lid and a hard plastic straw. And the blinking cube. And - best of all - free refills and you can even get a refill "to go" and fill up your cup as you are leaving.

My husband got his blinking cube at the bar in MGM back around the Flatbread Grill.

We store ours in the freezer and use for guests.

was told by our wonderful bartender at the tambu lounge that they come in 3 different colors - blue, red, and green. we only had blue and red at that point, so he gave us 2 of them with our drinks, and only charged us for 1. i think it was 2.99ish in price. they also last for a long time (i think our awesome waiter at 50's told us 15 hours) if you don't leave them on all the time. nice. we have a whole collection because we tended to drink a bit

NOTE: my server made a point of telling me to make sure I packed it in my checked luggage as the cube evidently contains some kind of gel and there had been reports of them being confiscated at airport security.

just a warning!

Oooh, good to know! I would've probably checked it anyways, but now I'll make sure I do! Thanks for passing that along!

I got mine in a "glow-tini" at BOMA (in AKL). Actually, we have a bar in our basement at home & I thought they were fun so I ordered a 2nd "glow-tini" and DH ordered one too so that we could have 3. Then the next nite we were having dinner at Hollywood & Vine in MGM & they had one in a sprite drink of some sort on the kids menu so DS ordered one - so now we have 4! All of ours ended up being blue but we did see other colors while walking around MGM. They have a little push button to turn them on & off & change the blinking speed. Very cute souvenir. I think you should be able to find them in a lot of places.:thumbsup2

They charged us $8 at Coral Reef back in May. However, we ended up with a glowing Tinkerbell. It lights up, but does not flash. Originally, DD asked for a Tinkerbell. The waitress brought us the flashing ice cube so we sent it back and got the Tinkerbell. So, I'm not sure if it was $8 just b/c it was Tinkerbell or if it would have been $8 for the flashing ice cube too. Anyways, I wanted flashing ice cubes for home b/c I thought they'd be a hit at BBQ's so I bought a bunch on ebay for $1 a piece! They have a on/off button.

So, just be prepared that they might be $8 at some places........

Here's a pic of the Tinkerbell:

We have accumulated a small collection of the glow cubes...It first started from the "Mommy drink" in Disney a/k/a a Glowtini :thumbsup2 Then, I have also secretly requested the kids' drinks also have glow cubes added and now our collection has grown! We got the extra cubes for the kids at the Garden Grill last year and in their Shirley Temples at Chef Mickey's this time around...Just ask and I am sure you will find! Enjoy! (P.S. I always pack thee cubes in my checked luggage, as suggested by one of our servers once...)

For the poster who asked about the cubes and DDP. They are NOT included on the dining plan. You will have to pay extra for them to be added to your drink...but they are fun, they're worth it. My DH even ordered a drink with on this past trip. They were $4 or $4.99 a cube in March. We didn't see the glowing Tinkerbells when we were there 6 months ago...I think they came out right after we were there. But I am already planning the $8 for that one for DD! She will love it.

Just so you know, the Tinkerbell is not an ice cube that goes in your drink. It has a clip, kind of like a clothespin that they attach to your drink. I've only seen a green Tinkerbell & a red Captain Hook.

Sunlover...thanks for making sure I know. I did! I haven't even mentioned this new thing to DD just in case they don't have them when we go. The picture in the post is adorable! She will be very excited if they have them when we go. They are currently on the WCC menu...so I have my fingers crossed!
