What age did you stop bringing an extra outfit...

Age 3 was the last time for my DS10, but my DD6 was a little difficult on the potty training. If I remember right she was 2 months away from being 4. My DS I only kept bringing outfits because he would run into any of the water things he could find. At AK when he was 3 I figured we were safe from anything he may get into. Well over by Kali River there was a stone wall thing that had water running out the side of it. It was right beside a retail cart and we were shopping and he ran to it when I was looking at something and got soaked. I remember vividly because I had to buy a beach towel from that cart and I still have the towel. My daughter gets involved in playing and ignores the fact that she has to go to the bathroom. Then by the time you get her to one sometimes she can no longer hold it. She will still have issues with that sometimes at home. But when we are out I make sure she goes to the bathroom anytime I go.

So I guess the best answer for you is to just base it on the child, but probably somewhere in the 3 year old stage.

I didn't bring any extra outfits to the parks for my kids last year; they were 4,4, almost 3 at the time. The 2 year old wasn't potty trained at the time; if he had recently been trained I would've brought a spare outfit.

This year, kids will be 5,5, almost 4. I'm not planning on bringing extra outfits for any of them. With three kids it's just too much extra stuff to haul around.

I stopped taking extra clothes in for DS when he was 5, but then one night, when epcot was closing after ROE, he had to go to the bathroom really bad and DH took him to a bathroom, but they had closed it and were roping the area off and the CM wouldn't let DS in, the nearest restroom that was open was quite a ways away and DS wet his pants. I wished I had packed a pair of sweats in our bag for him....it was Dec and was quite chilly.

My DH has this disability too, but he also has dunlaps (his belly done lapped over his belt) and that catches everything..

I took an extra outfit for the first trip after potty training and then no more. About 3 years old in our case.

We just stopped taking extra clothes around with us and the youngest just turned 3. He's been pretty well potty trained for about a month now with maybe 1 accident total....so we probably won't be taking extra clothes into the park. We plan on keeping them away from any water features this year. One year when the youngest was 1.5 I turned around and he was drink the water from Pooh's Playful Spot. Of course I stopped him, but he still got violently ill the next day. Anyway- that was way OT, but be careful of the water and little ones!

Umm, DH is 40, I am 39, and DS is 5...I still bring at least an extra shirt for everyone. DH just refuses to use that bib at dinner!!
No kidding, my DH is very fussy about "dirty" clothes, so I do pack extra for all...beats having to go back to the resort if he spills something!

Me too! I stuff an extra tee and lightweight shorts in my park bag for all of us. DH is still a messy eater and DS8 always manages to find the chair with gunk in it!

I have that SAME disability!

I actually will pack an extra shirt if I have the space, DD7 still gets stuff all over herself at times, and also has a very bad way of puking for no reason at the worst times. And usually puts her head on my shoulder right before it happens and manages to hit me when it happens! So at the very least I try to have a clean shirt for her and me, or just be prepared to buy a new one.

I bought a very nice Biltmore t-shirt that way!

Probably will pack one this trip for DS3. He's usually really good about not having accidents now but last trip we were at AK and he had an accident. Didn't realize that I forgot to pack extra shorts that AM so we ended up buying him a $26 pair of shorts that were way too big for him (even buying the smallest size the store carried). They aren't even fancy shorts, just solid navy with a little tag sticking out that says AK. At least he's gotten to wear them this summer (they finally fit!).

I still pack an extra outfit for DD who will turn 5 next week, because ice cream melts FAST in the hot FL sun, so whenever she has an ice cream or ice cream sandwich in the parks, half of it ends on her clothes, so I always take and extra t-shirt that goes with whatever shorts of pants that she is wearing and an extra outfit, this way she can run into the water jets and I won´t get crazy about her going all wet into a cold store or ride.

We were at WDW for a week in June and I brought along a change of clothes for each child - DD7 and DD3. DD3 since he's only been potty trained for about 6 months and I figure with DD7 never know if she'd get wet on a ride or something like that. I'm so happy I had that spare outfit for her. She was feeling great all day but on the bus ride home said she felt sick to her stomach and all of the sudden was throwing up. She had a knit dress on and I managed to pull it up and she was sick on that. I took it off her, stuffed in a plastic bag and got off at the first stop we could. I felt so bad about everything, bad for her, horrible for those on the bus with us even more. People were really nice though and tried to help. So I put the spare out fit on her. Put her in DS stroller and made him walk and got her home as fast as I could. She was fine the next day so I think the heat and rides just got to her and made sure we rested each afternoon after that and no more problems. But glad I had the extra outfit. And with DS I took two changes of clothes and one day used both of them as he had an accident and then got into water in the park. Must have been another case of too much with DS as he does not have accidents at home. So long answer, take a change of clothes, even two no matter how old.

I only brought extra clothes for the kids when they were babies. This past trip, I brought an extra outfit for DS (9 mos) every day...or so I thought. He tends to spit up a lot and when I took him out of the high chair after dinner one night, he spit up all over himself and me. Thank goodness for the extra outfit, right? Wrong! I forgot to put it in the diaper bag. Luckily, Crystal Palace (where the incident took place) is pretty close the the Emporium. I ran over there and got a onesie for DS and a shirt for me.

A few years ago when DD was about 3, she sat in birdpoop at Epcot. We had no choice but to go to a shop and buy her a new outfit. It would have been nice if I'd had an extra outfit for her that day, but I don't want to carry around entire outfits for 3 kids. My diaper bag would be overflowing.

I stopped carrying extra outfits anywhere for my kids once they were fully potty trained. This has come back to bite me a few times.

I didn't carry them last year at Disney -- ds was 5 and dd was almost 3. Dd did great - no problems the entire 9 days. I had to buy new underwear at the MK for ds.

My kids generally stay pretty clean, stopped using sippies at a very young age so are really good with regular cups and don't usually make a mess with their food. I just don't even think about grabbing extra clothes when we're going somewhere.

My bag at WDW consisted of a small sling type with only my wallet, autograph book/pen, camera, a mini M&M's container with pennies and quarters and ds's medicines (Epi Pen, Inhaler, and Benadryl).
