Hello out there! Does anyone know if laundry service is available at POFQ? and if so, how much does it cost? Thanks!

The washer and dryer are both $2.00 each for 30 minutes. I think it was $1.00 each for detergent and dryer sheets. I bring my own laundry products, so I really didn't pay attention to their cost.

It is $2.00 per washer and $2.00 per dryer. I bring my own detergent from home but if you purchase it there it is $1.25.

It is way too expensive to have the hotel do your laundry since they charge by piece which can really add up. I wish they did bundle laundry:idea:

The prices below were still in effect 3-4 weeks ago. :)

If you get the stuff to them by 8:30 (just give them a call and they'll come pick it up - if you're leaving, leave it just inside the door and they'll open it up and grab it), the stuff should be back in your room by 6:30 at night.

Once or twice, they didn't have our stuff back in time, but a call to housekeeping got it brought right up.

I send clothes out all the time and have had only a couple things damaged. So, I do tell folks to send things out, but nothing you absolutely couldn't live with yourself if a buttom went missing or whatnot.

CoolBeans-

Did you send alot of laundry to get cleaned? I'm just curious how expensive it can get.

I just got back and do the laundry myself while I'm there since I just have way too much clothes. There are 4 of us and we stayed 2 weeks and there was no way I was packing 2 weeks worth of clothes and having all that luggage so we pack half the amount and then I do the wash.:laundy:

Sometimes I send out a lot, sometimes not. Like you, when I go for longer trips, I don't pack it all. We'd have to pay extra at the airport and lug it all around. No, thanks. :) Short trips, I may send nothing out - or just send something out if ice cream gets spilled on it or whatever.

It isn't cheap, that's for sure. But, it really doesn't cost more than at other hotels, either. The pricing is pretty standard. "Expensive" depends on your budget and your desire to do/not do laundry on vacation. :) Everyone has their own way and has to make the decision for themselves. :)

I guess we can never get away with doing laundry, even when we're on vacation but the one good side, when I got home I just unpacked and put clothes away in the drawers, no laundry to do:thumbsup2

It is a great feeling, isn't it?

I mean, there are worse things in life than doing laundry (although, as routine matter of course, not too many ;) ), but when you get home and the clothes haven't wrinkled...it really is a happy little blessing. :)

I agree,especially when it's me and 3 grown men---that's alot of clothes:scared:

If you have a car, I know a great wash & fold laundry. It is in a strip mall where steak and shake is on apopka vineland rd. It is less then 5 minutes from downtown Disney. It costs us less than $20 for an entire week's laundry for 2 adults in Jan - laundry includes heavy sweatshirts & jeans. They do a great job. When you pick it up everything is neatly folded for you.

There is a laundry at the pool at POFQ, I usually throw a load in and go have breakfast, then head out and throw it in the dryer, it's really no problem at all, you could also do it while the kids are swimming. I always put some laundry soap in a ziploc (1 scoop per load) and then throw the dryer sheets in my suitcase, which also makes the suitcase and clothes smell good. I also bring extra quarters. Having it done for you is quite expensive. It's also nice going home with clean clothes!

Thank you. I've read of this once before but not with a specific location. I know right where you mean. We usually do a resort/DVC split so have a W/D in our villa but if we ever do a straight resort stay again, I'll know where to go!

I don't have a car as we always fly down. So you just drop the bundle off and they do everything for you?? That's great:woohoo:
