Room only: Paying in advance???

Can I not pay for my room in advance with a room only reservation? I know I did this last year??? It is nice to have this done in advance.:confused3
 
You can make a payment by mail or phone. When you get your confirmation letter there is an envelope enclosed to mail in a payment if you want.
 
I recently pre-paid the balance of my room only ressie (which happens to be for tomorrow ;) ) by calling CRO ahead of time.

The CM thought I was crazy for paying before I needed to, but I wanted the Disney Rewards to be available before I left. She had no problem completing the transaction over the phone. I did print out a copy of my online reservation which shows a $0 balance, just in case...
 


Am I missing something,...when I called for a one night room only ressie, I was charged right away...never given the option to wait until check in.:confused3
 


Sure you can pay in advance - just give them a call and they will gladly go ahead and apply your balance (I like to get to WDW and know that my room already "paid in full":dance3: ) And of course there is always a deposit equal to "one night's lodging" due when your reservation is made - that is why you have no option when making a reservations for just one night.
 
I thought so too (always have) but the last reservationist:rolleyes: I spoke with told me no...only rooms with packages???:confused3

Try again and you will get a different CM. DS has made a couple of payments on his room only reservation by phone.
 
I've never paid in advance by phone but I know that you can pay in advance by sending in a payment. You can not pay a room only reservation on line like you can a package.
 
I paid my room only reservation the same night I made it with WDW reservations - I wanted to be sure there was nothing hanging out there for me to worry about other than packing & showing up!!! :goodvibes I bought my tickets through AAA so I'm all set - getting closer & closer every day!! :woohoo:
 
I paid off my room-only ressie last month for our trip in December. The payments can be mailed in or made over the phone. All my payments are done on the phone and then i call back to have them email me my confirmation number. I have to call them cuz they never do it, as they're supposed to, when i make the payment.

Anyway, paid off and it feels GREAT!:woohoo:

I probably just reached a reservationist who didn't know or didn't want to handle it?:confused3

I have always paid via phone for room only in the past.

It's just nice to have the air fare, room, & park pass (AP) all paid for in advance. On top of that we have Disney gift cards already purchased too. It's just a load off to know all is taken care of before we go!:banana:

How did you make the reservation in the first place? My understanding is that you can only pay it off if you made the reservation over the phone. You cannot pay it off if you made the reservation online. That may have changed but it's possible that that is your problem.
 
Just made a big payment last night with credit card over the phone. Now only have $200 left on a 18 night stay! Three and a half months to pay off balance Plane tickets paid, room almost, Disney tickets paid, MVMCP tickets paid.....all I have to worry about is food and gifts:banana: :rotfl: ....

That's it. I made reservation online and am told that no payment can be accepted via phone. I could have sworn we did this before but I may be mistaken? No big deal I guess, just like to have those things taken care of in advance. I find it a little amusing that a business would refuse taking a customers payment! LOL!:laughing: But I am sure Disney has a system in place and a good reason for this.:wizard:
