Fastest way from Pop to Fort Wilderness??

We have a ADR for the Hoop Dee Doo, we will be coming from Pop Century. Whats the easiest and fastest way to get there???

Just a little reminder. The Hoop Dee Doo isn't at the Wilderness Lodge. It's held at Fort Wilderness. They aren't one and the same.

Take a bus from Pop Century to the Magic Kingdom. Leave the bus station and head over to where the boats and ferries are docked. You'll see a sign that says Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. Hop on the boat. Most times, the boat will stop at Wilderness Lodge but don't get off. Stay on and the boat will then head over to Fort Wilderness. When you get off the boat at the dock, you'll follow a path that kind of splits. You'll see a sign that says Hoop Dee Doo Review and you'll turn to your right. Can't miss it.

Thank you, now do you have to have a ticket to get into Magic Kingdom and then get on the boat. Or can you get on the boat without entering Magic kingdom??

You'll never even enter the Magic Kingdom theme park. You'll head straight out of the bus station and over to the boat dock. The boat dock will be on your left and there are dark green awnings. There are several docks so make sure you go to the Wilderness Lodge/Fort Wilderness one. Don't worry though, it's very easy to see.

Thank You, Now one last question.. Magic Kingdom closes at 8:00 on Sept 25th. Would you suggest a taxi, if so where do I get one, in my city you call on the phone for a cab. I have never been in one Or is there another way??

no - because the taxi can't get to this place.

once you get off the taxi you must take a bus.

so no trying to get here last minute - I would have at least 2 hours of travel time to get to FW especially - Hoop Dee Doo.

if you have a car - then take a right at the light leaving Pop - another right at the next light - get in the left lane - after the bridge (overpass) - turn left. when this road ends turn left again - once pass the golf course (immediately so stay alert) turn right. Park your car in this parking lot - then walk to the bus stop.

you want a bus going to the Settlement - that say - always ask the bus driver your quickest option - Disney can and does change bus route with little notice.

WDW transportation will run for at least one hour after each park closes. I'm not sure where you're headed at 8, but if you are leaving Hoop De Doo at 8, you can still hop on the boat from Fort Wilderness (the above poster was correct in that this is a different place from WL) back to MK, then hop on a bus from MK to Pop. Don't worry, they're not just going to leave you stranded at the bus drop off. They know there is a Hoop De Doo show ending and know to get those people back to their resorts.

All the WDW transportation (buses, boats and monorails) converges in front of the park and in front of the bag search areas and ticketing booths, so you won't need to enter the park to switch modes, and can walk quickly from one to the other.

Don't forget that on your way to DTD you get to stop at PI and TL so that is an added bonus. Maybe you will get really lucky and either your bus will break down or the security gates at the resort won't open, both happened to us 2 weeks ago!

On a serious note, you do need to allow enough travel time, I could swim faster than that boat travels! You could always go to MGM and get on the Ft. Wilderness bus. Not sure if it's faster but that slow boat really drove me crazy last year when we were running late for our WC reservation.

if the FW boat takes you to the MK - then you can definitely catch a bus back to your resort.

however if it has stopped going to the MK - you need to get to the front of the resort again (I think - go ask on the camping forum) to get the DD bus.

so take the depost bus (again ask) to the front. then take a bus to DD then a bus back to your hotel.

or see what WDW park is having EMH that night and go there. (generally much faster than going to DD)

remember if you are forced to take a taxi. you need to get to the front of FW (taking a bus). or the front of the MK - taking the ferry or monrail. (monrail generally goes longer than the ferry). or you can walk over to the CR and call a taxi from there.

always ask the front desk - sometimes the hotel will supply a bus to Hoop Dee doo for this if they have a bunch of people staying that are going there - okay generally conventions that Pop doesn't do.
