We're making a short trip November 29-December 2. It will be our first time at any Disney park during the Christmas season.

It's been a while since we've been to DL and I'm used to knowing what is going way before our trips to WDW.

When should I expect hours and fireworks/Fantasmic showtimes to be announced?

Otherwise - What seasonal things should we not miss?? I need your help on this one - thanks.

Hi there-

Currently they have the calendar of events up for August and September. So for the November/December one I would check at the end of October. You can go to Disneyland.com for this information.

Also you dont want to miss Haunted Mansion Holiday and Its a Small World Holiday. Get a good seat for the holiday fireworks. They are beautiful. I suggest in the middle of Main St in front of the Penny Arcade. ;) The Christmas parade is fun too! They also have cookie decorating on Main Street and Santa Claus and his reindeer behind Big Thunder at the ranch! Next door to that they do a little show and Mrs Claus is there too. They have coloring things for the kids and little Christmas carts set up. Very cool!! ::MickeyMo Enjoy the holidays in Disneyland! It is truly the best and most magical time to go!!! :tinker: :santa:

Nothing is more fabulous then Disneyland for the holidays!!!!! And I thought this before HMH!

IASW is so beautiful on a Holiday night and HMH is fantastic!

Also Disneyland and its resort and neighboring hotels are having a promotion through Dec. 12. Stay for 3 Nights and get the 4th Night free subject to availability. Go to disneyland.com and click on tickets and reservations.

The Candleight Processional will be held out on evenings of Saturday, Dec. 1 and Sunday Dec. 2. You could get a dining plan with tickets. Nothing officially has been announced. Expect some crowds around the time of the Candlelight.
Also DL has a Holiday Tour which is great -- you get preferred seating on folding chairs for the parade -- Christams parade and a tour and info about the holidays at DL.

If they use the same schedule as last year, the Believe in Holiday Magic fireworks show (which is VERY nice!) will be showing every night from about November 16 through the weekend after January 1. When the actual schedules will go up on the DL website is anyone's guess - might be mid-September, might not be until October. Most likely Fantasmic! will still be on off-season schedule, and only showing on Saturday and Sunday nights. The Christmas Parade should also be running daily by then.

Disneyland's version of the Candlelight Processional is only done on one weekend in December - it's usually the first weekend of December, which unfortunately for you would mean bigger crowds when you're there. But there's a rumor that it will be moved to December 8-9 this year.

Things not to miss: Haunted Mansion Holiday, Holiday "it's a small world", the Believe fireworks and the Christmas parade. Toontown is really nicely decorated. Oh, and be sure to spend a little time one evening near small world - after dark, about 5 minutes after the hour (and every 15 minutes after that) there's a choreographed light and music show. There's Santa's Reindeer Roundup over in the Big Thunder Ranch area - the kids can meet Santa, and there's also (free) crafts for them. Over at DCA there's Santa's Beach Blast in Sunshine Plaza where "Beach Santa" hangs out to meet guests. And the area back in Flik's Fun Faire has some cute decorations. And all the characters in both parks are dressed in their holiday best.

The tree in the lobby of the Grand Californian is very impressive, too.

Cool, HI! My DH and I will be there during the same time frame! I do hope they move the Candlelight Processional. i was hoping for no crowds. I have never been to DL. I am super excited.
