We SHOULD have let them cut in line!

We were at Blizzard Beach on Saturday. My dd's & I were in line for Teamboat Springs - the family raft ride. The line extended past the rope area. The way it is set up, alot of people were rounding the corner, seeing the end of the rope, and assuming the line started there. We all used our thumbs, like we were hitchhiking, saying the line starts back there.

So we wind our way around the ropes and we get to the last bend before it starts going up behind the rocks. A lady of hispanic background goes around the pole and jumps in line behind this British family of 3 behind us (I know they were British because I had been talking to them and we had agreed to ride together since you have to have 4 people in a raft). This hispanic lady starts hollering in Spanish to her family to join her, and pretty soon there were about 10+ trying to push ahead of us. The Brits & I held our ground and refused to let them pass us. I almost said something to the cm's at the top, but held my tongue.

Well, we get to the bottom, after a fun ride down, get out of our raft, and there are 4 Dream Team members there, one using a clicker type of counter. No sooner did we get out of the water and they started handing out dream lanyards and pins! I was SO mad! Had we let that family in front of us, we would have won instead of them. The DT handed out at least 20 or more of the lanyards.

It was funny watching them hand out the prizes. As soon as people realized what was going on, they would run to the area and try to get a lanyard. One of the DT members jobs was to stand guard and not let anyone through who was not getting off the ride.

I haven't been to these boards for a while and am now just back, but what is the "Dream Team" I've been reading about? Sorry you missed out on the lanyards but you did the right thing. I would have done the same.

NO, because think how mad you would have been if you let them cut and then they had gotten lanyards and not you! At least you were in your appropriate place and it just wasn't meant to be.

Thank you, I know I did the right thing, but it irks me that they should get a prize after being rude. Oh well.

The "Dream Team" are special cms who give out prizes randomly at the parks during this year's celebration of "Year of a Million Dreams". There are many different kinds of prizes, and alot of information on the YOAMD board here on DIS.

You're absolutely right - it wasn't meant to be. It just as easily could have gone the opposite way. There is no way of knowing ahead of time. I'm proud of US doing the right thing.

Yea but this time it was the Mean people in front wouldn't let you jump ahead of them ,So Karma will be nice and give you a Free lanyard

I would have reported them to the CM. Not that anything would have been done but I have seen them make people go to the back of the line as well.

I always have fears of being nice and letting one by only to be followed by the other 17 like that lady that just had her 17th kid and wants more.

That stinks, but i'm sure I would have done the same thing.

Last year, when I was in the single rider line for EE, there was a man in front of me with his young (maybe 6 or 7) son. Before getting into the single rider line, the CM reminded you that you WOULD NOT be able to ride together. Well, when we got up to the front and the CM by the ride becokened for one of the two, the fater said no, I want to ride with my son. The CM said, this is the single rider line, you cannot ride together. The father insisted, and the CM said okay, fine, wait just a minute. I was next in line, so I had to go on the ride.

The father and son were able to get on the next train, together (i saw them lining up when the train took off). As we pulled in to the exit, i got so excited, because i saw the dream team!! The first time I had seen them the whole time I was there. BUT...they didn't start handing out passes until the car after mine. The car that the people who SHOULD have been on the car I was on were on. I was SO mad!! But figured it wouldn't do any good complaining about it. So I totally feel your pain!!
