Email I got 2day from Disney about 2008 package's

Here is the response I got when I emailed Disney about when the package rates would be coming out....

(Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Each year, our Product Development Department reviews all components
offered under each package name. This determines the packages and
components included for the following year. At this time, packages
beyond 2007 have not been announced. Please check back later this
Summer for updated information.

It is possible to book a 'room only' reservation up to 499 days in
advance; however, please understand that all rates for any Walt Disney
World Resort are only guaranteed through December 31, 2007. A
reservation of this type will require a deposit at the current 2007
nightly room rate, including tax; and will be adjusted to the 2008 rate
at a later date.

A package may be added when details have been announced, however, it
will be necessary for you to check when the packages become available.
Your room reservation will not automatically convert to a package.
Advance reservations do not guarantee the availability of discounts and
special programs.

For further assistance with this type of reservation, please contact the
Walt Disney Travel Company directly, a division of Disney reservations
at 407-828-8101.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if
applicable on all correspondence.

The rates are sure to be out soon. I went to the www.disneyworld.com website this a.m. and you can now view the price ranges of each resort for 2008. The website no longer just kicks you out of 2008 and back to 2007. You will get a message that says there are no resorts available for your requested dates (any time in 2008). It seems as if they are prepping their site to include 2008 rates soon.

We have a room only reservation at the Wilderness Lodge in June, 2008. The price ranges shown for the Wilderness Lodge in 2007 are $215 to $445. The price ranges shown for the Wilderness Lodge in 2008 are $225 to $595. Not too bad.

I plan on calling Disney reservations in a bit and will let you guys know what they tell me.

It doesn't look like they have released the rates yet. As soon as they do you will able to see the rates posted. It does look like they are getting close though, we couldn't even put in the dates a few days ago. Hopefully any day now. It was nothing that you have done wrong, just not quite available yet.

You can call Disney reservations directly by calling 407-W-DISNEY. If you have your heart set on a specific resort, you can book a room only reservation now and you will be required to put up a deposit equal to your first night's stay.

When the 2008 rates come out, you have two options.

One: You can keep the room only reservation and the price will be adjusted according to the 2008 rates.

Two: You can book a package. If you choose this option, Disney will actually cancel your room only reservation and give you the same resort and add the package components. You will be refunded your room only deposit and you will have 14 days to pay the package deposit. I specifically asked if I would have my room only deposit refunded to me within the 14 days and I was told absolutely. (I intend to put that money towards the package deposit.)

I was told that, by booking room only now, I would be assured to have a room at my desired resort.

I wish today! She said mid August...but I've heard so many different things from Disney reps on that.

I just hung up the phone with Disney reservations. I asked when I was going to be able to change our 2008 room only reservation to a package. He said "in just days". I talked with him a while regarding some other questions I had and, just before I hung up he said "I would certainly call back this weekend." I'm hoping that means the August 5th rumor is true!
