OK, the Mrs and I are heading to WDW this December. I want to get her something special and give to her, probably at CRT breakfast. I would like to get her some disney jewelry. I looked at the charm bracelets as she does like those, but I was hoping for something a little more colorful maybe? Or maybe a necklace, that's not pirates or the like. I was looking at disneyshopping and was rather disappointed in the selection. Anyone know of any other places that sell authorized WDW jewelry? Or maybe the question would be better, places that folks have used and been happy with?

Then, my next problem is how to give it to her. I would LOVE to get her a glass slipper (someone said you can get them on main street, and have them engraved? Again, any places that folks have dealt with outside of the world?

I would love to have it 'show up' at the CRT table but then I have to figure out how to get it there without her knowing about it!!!

I'm sure folks here have given / or received presents like this, just need to know how to pull it off!!!!

Thanks!

Hi, I've never done what you have in mind but I found the following link after reading on these boards, it should have something.

Good luck and what a lucky lady!!

Go to QVC.com and search for Disney Jewlery. They have some nice reasonably priced things. I wear the mickey pendant everyday and I love it. It has held up very well.

My husband bought me 2 pairs of earings in MGM that I just love. The are suttle silver mickey heads, and the other also suttle ( for adults) are sloid mickey's. I get more compliments on them and they didn't break the bank. I also got a disney watch. gold/silver with the mickey in silver small, on the face. You would have to really look to tell it was Disney. I wear it everyday. Again at MGM the watch was about $75. and the earrings were under $20. a pair.:)

The Emporium on Main St. in the Magic Kingdom sells jewelry as well. My husband purchased a beautiful pair of pearl earrings shaped like Mickey. They also had necklaces and rings. It might be worth a call before arriving to get an idea of what they currently have if you decide to go that way! Good luck!

...... Since she likes charm bracelets, I guess I could see about getting her one of those and just let her pick stuff while there to fill it up :)

You could start it with charms of your choice, and invite her to add to it during the trip -- and leave space for later additions. The charm bracelet idea gives you (or anyone else -- do you have kids?) the opportunity to add to it later on.

In addition to the traditional charm bracelets, there are Italian charm bracelets. Are you familiar with this? It's a very casual type of bracelet, so it will probably be worn often.

This isn't a Disney website, but it does show the bracelets -- and this site has LOTS of Disney charms -- so you can see the future opportunities. I do know that some of the jewelry stores at WDW do carry the Italian charms.

At the top of the page, go to CATALOG, then ITALIAN CHARM BRACELETS, then DISNEY.

You buy a starter bracelet (blank charms), and gradually replace the blanks with charms of your choice. On this website, the starter 18-link bracelet is $5.50. At some stores, the starter is free with the purchase of maybe 3 charms. It's very easy to use more or fewer charms to fit the wrist. I have small wrists, and my bracelet is 17 charms. My bracelet is full, so I'm thinking of starting a second, Disney-only, bracelet with the blank charms that have rotated off of the first bracelet.

Oh -- I just looked back at your initial posting -- you said that you were hoping for something more colorful. You can certainly do that with the Italian charms. Many (maybe most?) of the charm designs are enameled. For example, Peter Pan's hat will be green. So you can definitely make it to be colorful. Look at all these Mickey and Minnie charm options, and you can see some are colorful, some are gold & silver, some are crystals.

I just ran across this site that European beaded charm bracelets, with Disney beads available. Using the word "beads" probably doesn't communicate the correct visual, so you need to just look at them.

This is a manufacturer's site, and I don't believe that you can purchase online. But there is a store locator. I plugged in my zip code (Atlanta area) and found 7 stores.

If there's not a store near you, here is an online merchant:

This is not the same as the Italian charms, and possibly the Disney charms aren't as colorful as you would like. But it is certainly a different look, and can be very elegant. But -- you can make it colorful by using the Disney charms (silver), and including some additional non-Disney colorful beads as part of the bracelet design. They have some beautiful colorful glass beads and some colorful Swarovski crystal beads (including birthstones). This style of bracelet requires some "designing" -- but it could be stunning. If there is a store near you (nice gift stores), then they will help you to design, and they might be able to order any specific charms that interest you from the website.

I love this. I think it's going on my Christmas list.

Thanks JanB for some other options! Glad I have long enough to plan this out :)

Me thinks I'd be looking for a dog house to sleep in then :)

I think you would be too ... lol.. I called my husband and told him about the castle (it was our 20th anniversary on july 11th) he said DONT even think it woman! lol

When we last visited I bought myself and DD jewellery from DTD. She chose the charm bracelet, I had the silver and sapphire tennis bracelet (Mickey links) which is beautiful and I think was about $100. The great thing is that it isn't obviously Mickey until you look closely at all the lovely little hidden Mickeys.

For my birthday last year (we were celebrating in WDW) my BF gave me a pair of Judith Jack Marcasite Mickey Earrings. He bought them in DTD in the World of Disney. They also sell them in the Magic Kingdom at the Watch Shop. I tried to find a pic but I can't. They are very beautiful and weren't horribly expensive but look it!
