I actually saw someone wearing a banana clip recently--- It kinda scared me:scared1: for second I thought they were making a comeback

Those Jordache purses that were basically a pouch on a string in a crescent shape and came in every color of the rainbow. You had to have one to match each outfit. My mother was horrible to me- she thought 5 different colors was enough and cut me off.:scared1: Most of my friends had at least 10.

OMG You guys are making me feel really old. I remember when the cool toy was Wheel-O. I played with that thing for hours at a time. I also had a replacement head for my Barbie doll (one of the originals) that was bald and had 3 wigs to put on her. A Tressie doll whose hair grew. You pushed a button on her belly and pulled a large strand of hair out the top of her head. To get it to go back in you took the belt off her dress, inserted the key on the belt in her back, and turned to rewind the hair.

Our only seat belts were my Mother's arms flying out to hold us back when Dad stepped on the brakes. Of course we were riding with our heads hanging over the front seat to see where we were going.

The only air conditioner we had in the car was to roll all the windows down. My brother called it 460 air conditioning....Roll all 4 windows down and go 60 mph.

I grew up in the 60's with 45's and 78's. I remember when 8 tracks first came out. We thought we were big stuff with those things.:hippie:

I think it was called Tickle...it's the one my Mom bought me when I started needing it....:rotfl:

Was the gritty soap Lava?

What was the name of that round shaver, on which you turned the dial for a new blade? Was it Flicker or something like that?? I don't think they make those anymore.

Marcy

I THINK TICKLE AND LAVA ARE RIGHT. THE RED SOAP WAS IN THE CHRISTMAS STORY TOO, RALPHIE HAD TO HOLD IT IN HIS MOUTH...........

I remember the days of laying on the bed trying to zip up the way too tight jeans. What was I thinking?

We used a fork, and always had lines down the sides of your legs when you took them off!:rotfl2:

Oh, and how could I forget about the ankle bracelet craze? They had "wings" with names engraved in them and they were worn around the neck on a chain to advertise that you were dating someone.

It was a glitter chick thing, I was a heavy metalhead myself.:cool2:

Samantha

i just noticed i got a new tag..........flat as a flitter, what a epithet....

Thank you Tag Fairy, love you as always!!

I simply must thank you all for my newest tag.

I usually hang on the creative community board and that is going to be a fun tag to explain. :lmao:

Fuzzy Wuzzy soaps that grew this "hair" after you used them...
Bonomo Turkish Taffy (strawberry!!! Yum!!!)
Astronaut Ice Cream
Fizzies
Satin Jackets and leg warmers
Earth shoes
Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill wine :rolleyes1
Shake-A-Pudding
Betty Bubbles bubble bath
Romper Stompers
Bikes with banana seats and wheelie bars
"Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific" shampoo and "Long and Silky" conditioner
Cover Girl creme eye shadow in sky blue shimmer (Looked like Mimi from the Drew Carey Show!!)
"Love American Style" on TV

Wow, what memories....

I can still remember what my Grandmother got me for Christmas when I was 12. She thought she was being so "hip". (and she was, she double pierced ears before anyone else in the family)

LEATHER LEG WARMERS with rhinestone studding on them.

:rotfl:

I miss:

Aluminum glasses (they always kept your drink so cold ) they came in like 5 colors.

Candy (the kind that looked like different foods) ex. tacos, pancakes, waffles, hamburgers and it was all chewing gum

A bottle of coke opened with a fresh bag of salted peanuts poured into it..YUMMY!!!!

Pickles in a plastic pouch cold at the store

Marathon Bars (caramel braided and then covered in chocolate)

****SHHHHH , but we live in the sticks so we still sleep with our windows open and doors unlocked...We have never thought twice about it:rolleyes1

I miss my dad's van it was the coolest thing EVER..inside it had plush red carpet and a loveseat in the back and a table and tv...The front had big plush captain chairs for my parents. Outside the van was custom painted silver and it had airbrushed naked women on it (yep, I said naked women) ..LOL the gas cans were in the back doors and those were ever airbrushed. The steering wheel looked like a chain..It was awesome...We made several trips to FL in that van!!!
