Hi I stupidly waited to book a studio ANYWHERE for Nov 11th this year. Now we can't get any studio or 1 bedroom. What is going on this day? I think it is the last day of the FWF at Epcot. Do you think that is it?

Does AKV have anything to do with the availability. In other words, could they Villas be ahead of schedule and then more rooms open up for this date? Or Is SSR buildings all open? Just wondering if there is any chance this date will open up.

Thanks!

November 11th is Veteran's Day. Since it is on a Sunday this year, the Federal holiday is being observed on Monday the 12th, so likely more people there for a long weekend, too. It is one of the few federal holidays that is dedicated to a particular date, not to a "2nd Monday" or something like that - if it happens to fall on a weekend, the holiday/day-off is on the preceding or following weekday, such as this year.

Well that explains it. I hope this doesn't mean it will be really crowded the following week. We went last year and Veteran day was on Friday so I guess everyone went home on Sunday! Thanks for the information. I guess I don't really have a shot of getting anything then! Thanks!

It's also the end of Jersey Week; which will probably be one day longer this year b/c of Veteran's Day!

Good Luck! pixiedust:

Wow, thanks to this thread, I checked and yes, I do have the 12th off.

It's Jersey Week, NJ teachers have a convention on 8 & 9, this usually sends all the NJ Disney folks to WDW! That is what we do, Arrive on 11/8 depart 11/13, Kids are off for 2 days, we keep them out of school for 2 days and we get a 6 day 5 night vacation!

I was told last year from the Conceirge at the Poly that about 80% of Ressies for that week are from NJ.

Just Curious, why do you go home on a Tuesday? I was hoping everyone would be gone by then! No offense!

That's a good question, Maybe we should stay till thursday!!! lol, We take the kids out of school for two days, we don't like them to miss more then 2 days in a row. We also love WDW and we all hate to leave! Sorry for taking up your space!

That's OK! Its your home!

The thing I don't understand, and you may be different than most New Jerser's but why wouldn't you leave on the Monday night the 5th and stay all the way until Monday the 12th. Do you all have that school day off? That way they kids only miss the 6&7. Then you are at the parks during the week for most of your trip and not on the weekend. Which I hear is Super Soap Weekend. Is that really bad?? Just hoping most of the crowds will be gone by Monday the 12th!:confused3

Of course, this is none of my business just trying to get an idea what everyone from Jersey does!

Hope you have a wondeful trip home!

The reason we do go Mon - Sun is that the boys are my step children, There father gets them wed nights, We try not to ask for too many changes in schedule, that is why we go when we do.

Unfortunately there are many changes to the visitation that was assest by the courts. We try to keep it simple, he cannot handle changes in schedule, I had suggested to the boys 10 & 12 that we could go down without them and just take their sister, My daughter born 12/22/2006, That didn't go over very well!!! lol

Well my school has off starting from Nov 3rd until Nov12th. SO I will be taking the kids out of school on the 2nd to enjoy our vacation home from 2nd through the 12th!!

I had a heck of a time getting Nov 11th too. It was almost impossible. (I'm renting points.) Thankfully an excellent DVCer found us a 1-bedroom at OKW and are waitlisted at BWV. There were no studios at all for our timeframe!

I am booked at VWL for 11/3-11/10. I am on the wait list for AKV and highly doubt they will come through.

I think the crowds are because of Jersey Week, F&W and Soap Opera Fest.

I called Friday and they still had 1bedrooms at OKW for the 11th :)
She said that they still had "a few" so you may be in luck!

You're there the same time us, except we check in two days before! :wave2:

We're at VWL in November too, but we check in on the 4th and check out on the 12th! The 10th is my birthday!

It's also going to be Festival of the Masters weekend at DD! My daughter, the art teacher, is excited about this one!

We'll be in our usual room I'm sure...it's the one that overlooks the dumpster :rotfl2:

I am wishing that I would have added another day, but I already bought our airline tickets and it's not sounding promising to add on a room. Oh well...we'll just have to start planning ANOTHER trip. ;)
