DVC rented points/dining plan?

I was told that I could purchase the dining plan even while staying at OKW on rented points. It was added onto my reservation. How is this done though? Do I purchase my park tickets in advance and have the dining plan added on then? At check-in? It looks like I pay at check in as our DVC owner gave me a final price for the plan for the 6 nights we'll be there. Is the dining plan then added onto your room key card? (All I have had experience with is a package, which had everything-room key, park tickets and dining plan on one card.) Can anyone help me out a bit? I'm so confused!!!

The DVC version of the dining plan is not tied to a park ticket purchase., it is a separate item. You pay for the dining plan when you check-in and the credits will be encoded onto your room key.

For park tickets, you can purchase them anywhere you like and either keep them separate, are have them also encoded onto your room key at the resort concierge desk.
