How does this sound?

I went on a website to get some rates for a few nights at the Luxor in Vegas, it came to approximately $130/night. And this wouldn't be until Feb/08 or so, would you even book that far in advance? Thankspopcorn::

Sounds way too high for Luxor!

I got $70 a night at MGM Grand via their website. Check all the websites for the hotels you are interested in. It is way too early to book. I'd wait and watch and learn about the different going prices for hotels.

Sometimes special deals are posted on the websites, but usually not this far in advance. I started watching my hotel about 2 months prior to arrival

Have fun planning.

WOW, what a difference, thank you! Thanks for helpful info and tips. :)

No problem. My husband goes to Vegas a few times a year for business so I have learned how to get best rates etc. We got lucky this year and fell into $50 rt air on SW.

Have fun and post more when you get closer to your trip.

Yes, the planning and checking out other websites is half the fun! I just want to be sure I get a good deal, so I will certainly keep posting to be sure. Again, Thank You! BTW, I remember when we went there almost 10 years ago and we went to places like a Coca Cola Factory (or something like that). I know it was to do with CC because I have a pix of myself sitting on the CC Polar Bear lap as well as an M&M factory are places like those still there? That would be a start for us to take my 10 year old. It would be nice to revisit those places. Thanks

Since you are taking a 10 year old, I would definately stay at MGM Grand. It is huge, but has many kid friendly things to do. Plus their pool is the best, with a lazy river and many pools, one of which is just an adult pool!

Vegas has changed in the past 5 years or so, not so family friendly as it once was.

We are headed there in a little over a week and I'll post some photos for you. There is a Rainforest Cafe in the hotel, plus easy walking to NYNY, Excalibur and Luxor. I would not stay at Mirage, Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian or any of the old school places, Ballys, Flamingo, Tropicana. Also skip Circus Circus, not nice anymore!!
