If I am going to dress up the kids, but do not plan on dressing up myself should we just wear resort casual to dinner that night? Or are shorts aloud?

Well, I don't know what pattern you plan on having on your shorts, so I don't know how loud it would be.

However I would imagine shorts would be frowned upon, not to mention not very comfortable on those vinyl chairs.

Well, I might get flamed here but...Pirate Night is the one night that I will wear shorts if I feel like it. It is a very casual evening. Having late seating we like to head right out to the party without wasting time changing. I figure that if people can wear costumes I can wear shorts with a pirate themed tee shirt. I did not feel uncomfortable doing so. That being said, resort casual is "suggested". Do what you are comfortable with.:goodvibes

So....we can wear jeans this night? Please no flames, but we are not a dress up family. I am already stressed about the other nights and our dress. Not all of us have formal wear, and to buy for just one night seems silly to me. It is not a money issue, just don't have formal wear. I know these formal nights are part of the cruise, but WE also want to enjoy OUR vacation.

I saw many people wear many things on Pirate night, from costumes (like us), to sundresses and khakis, to t-shirts and shorts or jeans. Actually, all nights I saw people wearing all types of clothes, including someone in jean shorts. I was not at all offended, though DH was mad because I told him no shorts but he had forgot and only brought one pair of pants for our Palo's night. I made him wear those every night but pirate night. I recommend do what you think fits the theme for pirate night and the rest of the time dress like you would for a nice night out.

You can wear jeans on any night you want. Don't stress the small stuff! Wear whats comfy for you and ENJOY YOUR vacation:thumbsup2 Don't worry about the "FLAMERS", as they'll always find something to be:snooty:about!

I found a really cute pirate shirt at disneyshopping.com's outlet. It's pretty much a black tshirt with a sparkley pirate, and I plan to wear that and probably khaki capris. Personally, I have never worn shorts to the dining room, but only because I like to dress up a little more than that. But I think pirate night would be a good night to wear shorts!

Hmmm I wore pants or jeans each nite. Then again it was January.

I assume there is the technical rule of shoes, shirt, and something on waist.
Other than that they will not tell you that you cannot eat.

The suggested attire sets the tone for the evening.
For some it is great fun... For some no big deal...

Last pirate nite I was at they gave you bandana's with skulls on them to
wear if you want. So if they are giving black bandana's with skulls on them I do not think jeans or shorts are a far stretch from that.

So my opinion is, I welcome tuxes, pirates as it is great fun. But if that is not your fancy you still most welcome anytime in my dining room. However if you have an issue with crocs. Then we will have to talk.....:cool1:
