So our year old fridge broke. Thankfully still under warranty but I still had a freak out about the food. But I went out got ice and we are having a big BBQ tonight with all the stuff from the freezer- party at my house:cool1:
Well DH heard about the fridge and here is his solution...

Why don't we just go buy a Sub Zero?

Well what do you suggest we do with the existing Amana french door one?

We could put it in the mud room. You said you wanted to get a freezer so why not just a new fridge instead and use the Amana in the there instead?

Um.

While we're at it maybe we should replace the cooktop that you hate with the Thermador that you loved in our old house. You know not like a total redo of the kitchen but just some appliance upgrades.

Um

Ok well think about it we'll talk later bye.

So what do you think? Cheating on me?:rotfl2: Has the man lost his mind!!!:scared1: We are getting a free repair on the fridge let's wait until we need to rip it all out. ARRRGHHH! I hate being the responsible one.

 You have my sympathies.

I can honestly say that DH and I are within a few dollars of each other as far as priorities in our finances go. :goodvibes

I don't think he needs to buy beer, he doesn't think I need to ge my once a week Dunkin Donuts fix. :rotfl:

EEK! Too funny.

Don't buy that sub-zero. Consumer Reports says they are one of the least realiable brands. Many repairs.

I have one and have owned it for 15 years. Only repair was the ice maker and we put on new hinge gromets. Yes so very unreliable!!!:rolleyes1 There is not other fridge that I would ever own again!

We had one in our old house and loved it. I can't believe I actually miss a fridge- but I have heard that they are not like they used to be. Although I did really love it.

I had a subzero and we had the repair people at the house at least once a month.

My brother has a 15+ year old Sub Zero that a customer gave him when he was remodeling his (the customers) house. (DB does custom handcrafted cabinetry and often has customers tell him to just take what he wants as DB is removing the original cabinets and appliance--he should open a used appliance place!) He hasn't had a single problem with it in the three or four years he's had it.

My sister has one that about two years old, and they seem to have the repair guy out every other month.

I honestly think this is a product like so many others that used to be superb and has really gone downhill.

I went through this as well!!! A year ago, my freezer broke again..my husband said he's not getting it fixed again, lets get a new one. We went to look for a refrigerator, one with the freezer on the bottom. We came back with all new stainless appliances!!! $6,000 worth :sad2: All I wanted was a new refrigerator.

Geez! Do any of you ladies want my DH? When my frig broke down (read that to mean: we were living out of a cooler for a week), DH told me to find a new one and "spend around $300".

$300???!!!! Is he out of his ever-lovin' mind? But I looked and couldn't even find a scratch & dent model for that price. So, I dragged him out appliance-shopping (a fate even worse than a trip to Home Depot for my man). And after wasting his evening looking rows of frigs that were beyond his price range, he finally relented and bought what I wanted to begin with - a side x side Kenmore with ice and water thru the door.

Sometimes, I envy those of you who aren't on the same page as your DHs. Mine isn't even reading the same book! :rotfl:
