I'm practicing for DDP ordering!

I went to dinner the other night and pretended I was at DW.

For appetizer we had blue crab cakes.

Then the restaurant was offering a three course meal for $30.

I ordered:

crab bisque - OMG!!! This was delicious!
petite filet and scallops (came with creamy mashed potatoes and asparagus)
creme brulee (again, DELICIOUS - and that was a big bowl of creme brulee!)

I just sat there pretending I was ordering/eating at DW. I think I will have to do this often so I can "train" for DDP dining!

That sounds like so much fun. I think I would gain a gazillion pounds if I wasn't walking it off at the WDW parks. I can barely eat just the entrees w/ veggies. Let alone an appetizer and dessert. We leave for WDW Saturday. I can't wait.

what a good idea! we just got back last week and it was our first time using the ddp, and it went sooooo well!!! we even ended up usisng our snacks as our breakfast pastries b/c we were so stuffed from dinner (plus the parks closed somewhat early) but thats a good way to train yourself!! We will 100% use the DDP again, we had pretty good food everywhere and it was a breeze making ADRs.

Be careful, all of that practicing could turn you "pooh-sized" before you know it:rotfl2: .

Well when they said petite filet, they really meant it! It was tiny! And 4 scallops. Not very much potatoes either. Three pieces of asparagus. So I guess they figure if you're having that many courses each one doesn't have to be that big. Plus the crab cakes weren't included; we added them on.

But it did help me to see that I can eat some of this and some of that and not stuff myself and enjoy the meal. DD and I went and we actually between the two of use ended up bring enough home to feed DH. By the time I finished my creme brulee I was full, but not stuffed. It sure was yummy though!

Yum! (AFAIK, on the DDP, the crab bisque would have been your appetizer, so the crab cakes would have been OOP, in case you didn't already know that.)

Yeah, I did know that with DDP I wouldn't get crab cakes AND crab bisque, but my DD has had both of them before and she insisted I had to taste both. And both were delicious but if I had to choose between the two, I'd get the crab bisque! Gotta find a recipe for that stuff! Actually, they had one entree that was petite filet and crab cake so I think I'd order crab bisque, the entree with filet and crab cake, and creme brulee (other choices for dessert were red velvet chocolate cake and cheesecake). Other choices for appetizer were Caesar salad and...I don't remember what else. Other choices for entrees were petite filet and salmon, some kind of sirloin strip steak, and several other choices that didn't interest me so I can't remember!
