During the months of July, Aug and Sept if you put your theme park tickets, hotel, gas (also museum or zoo) on your Discover Card, you earn 5% Cashback Bonus dollars.

We are going to WDW at the end of Sept. I will finish off the payment with my Discover Card and buy our tickets too. You have to sign up for this program. :)

PS right now it is Home/Apparel

Thanks!

My mom is going with us in Sept and I am sure that she will upgrade her 1 day ticket (that we are getting with our free dining package) with her Discover card :thumbsup2

Just a quick reminder that the cash back amount is limited to purchases upto 1000$ only so does not make sense to pay whole disney vacation thru them

Great tip! Here I was debating over 5% Cash Back (and definitely the better deal) or 1% Cash Back and 6 months with 0% interest.

The 6 months with 0% interest will get my business this time.

I agree. I will use up to for that amount and use my Disney Visa for the rest!

I just used the 5% cashback at Lowes this month. That limit was only $500! I spent $730 on a dishwasher, but it was still worth it.

Thanks! :) I already bought the MYW tickets but I do need to buy the Universal tickets.

Another tip to those who are paying their Disney vacation on Discover. When Disney charges your card it shows up as merchandise which technically does'nt automatically qualify you for the cash back. You have to call Discover and let them know you are paying for your hotel and theme park tickets. They then change the category or manually credit you a cashback.

Thanks so much for the heads up. I always sign up for whatever Discover cards 5% program is at the time. Didn't realize they had information on the future promotions. I'm not real thrilled with the current promotion because I don't use those places very often. Thanks again. :thumbsup2

I didn't realize either, but I got a schedule in one of their bills.

January-March

Airlines
Cruises
Hotels
Car Rentals
Buses and Trains

April-June
Home
Apparel

July-September

Gas Hotels
Theme Parks
Museums
Zoos

October-December
(this was 2006)
Restaurants
Movies
Books
Music

I think this is about what it was last year too.

Thank you mitushib for the info on getting them to recognize WDW! Who knew????:confused3

Anyone know if buying tickets thru a broker like ticketmania would count for the Discover bonus?

What about tickets thru the Disney Store at the mall?

Thanks
Pam
