Adults, teens arrested in Disney brawl

Three teens and two adults were arrested at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom after deputies said they spat on guests, cursed and brawled with an Orange County deputy, according to a report released Monday.

The arrest took place at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday, after Rose Dipietro, 20, Brian Guilfoil, 19, and three teens, all of Shirley, New York, were detained by Disney security for being unruly and possibly drunk, according to a sheriff's report.

The group threatened the security officers, who called for help from sheriff's deputies. When one deputy tried to intercede, Guilfoil pushed the deputy while his companions rushed into the fray, the report states.

Security guards and deputies rushed to the deputy's aid, and the deputy used his stun gun against a 17-year-old girl.. The five suspected brawlers were arrested for felony battery on a law enforcement officer and other related charges.

Dipietro and Guilfoil were booked into Orange County Jail, where they were released Monday afternoon on $2,300 bail each.

The teens--girls 17 and 16 and a 14-year-old boy-- were taken to the county's juvenile detention facility.

Trip report:

We rode Space Mountain, TTA and then watched a cop stun gun a drunk 17 year old girl right after she spat on people all at no extra cost!

sadly, this doesn't surprise me.
that area is about 8 miles east of where we live.
it has been on a steady decline since the late 70's

Maybe this was just a new street show; stun guns can be kind of futuristic. If this had happened in Frontierland, would they have pistol whipped the offender?

Disney shouldn't tolorate people behaving badly in their parks. That is the biggest problem in this country, kids are encouraged to say and do whatever they want. The article says that they were spitting and cursing at guests. I know what I would have done to the little angel if I got spit on! Unfortunately for the Sheriff, he will likely be criminally investigated. And I'm sure Disney will be sued also and end up paying the little jerk for all his "trauma". If I sound a little annoyed it's because I work in the Courts and see all this kind of nonsense daily.

Why would the deputy be investigated and Disney sued?

I'm sure the brat's parents will retain a lawyer for the way their son/daughter was "injured" with the excessive force used.

yes, it doesnt suprise me either but this is where you should have stopped. this area has NOT been on a steady decline since the 70's. do some research. this area has been vicitimized by a steady stream of misconceptions and falsehoods by pople who do not live in this area and honestly i am sick of it.

i am sure that there has never been a case in patchogue where the combination of teens misbehaving and possibly drinking resulted in trouble.

the reply you made should have stuck to the topic and not condemning an area that you obviously do not know much about.

frankly i am embarrassed that someone from my area was involved in something this stupid and i hope that they truly get was they deserve

Whenever there is a weapon's discharge, there is an investigation. However, from this and other news reports I've seen, the cop behaved well within his use of force continium. If the cop is exonerated, there is no case against WDW, and the parent's can legally sue.

When I first heard this story, I was so upset to hear that people would be so rude and disrespectful especially in such a family oriented surrounding. Then to find out that these people were from Long Island where I live just made me sick.

On another Disney discussion board that shall remain nameless, the thread turned into a NY bashing thread. People making comments like "well they're from NY, what do you expect."

I just want to say that not all New Yorkers/Long Islanders are like that and that the behavior of these people does not stem from where they raised, but how. These kids could have been from anywhere and obviously their parents did not teach them how to treat people with respect and how to behave in public.

oh, i guess graduating from William Floyd High School in 1986 doesn't quailfy me for knowing much about the area?
shame on me.
i guess i got out of town way too quick.

maybe in the 1980's it did but not now it does not

My husband graduated from Floyd 1986.(Hi Lisa) I'd bet a million dollars you know him.
I graduated two years later.
I think a lot of our USA towns have kids/young folk that act this way. We don't usually see them in Tomorrowland though, the high cost of a Disney ticket usually filters them out.
