For my dates - July 29 and August 5 just took a $61 per RT ticket drop! Total air for 4 of us $555.20.

Not bad for Sundays, huh?

Yay, congrats! :goodvibes

I just re-checked Southwest's site for our dates... we could GET there for about that price... but coming home would cost the same :( No way I'm paying over $1000 to fly Southwest!! Guess we're still driving....

Thanks Beth...

Just checked our fares for Sept 20 and 23rd and flights dropped $10 each way...

Every little bit helps.... Hoping for Dings soon though.... Maybe get back another $30 per flight...

I really need to convince myself that I'm never going to find a fare that's cheeper than driving with four people, even at $4 a gallon! Sadly, my skull is rather thick. :rotfl:

If we didn't need a rental car (we do, staying in my folks condo in Kissimmee) I could convince myself of it. But when you add $350-$400 in rental car on top of even the cheapest fares... suddenly driving makes sense. :/

Wow...great deal!!! I'm waiting on a ding, too! :thumbsup2

This wasn't a Ding! It is an "Internet Special." I did not get an email or anything about it. I just was on the website checking (for the 4th time today  ) when I saw the rate.

So be sure to check your dates. :)

Thanks so much for this post! I just got the same price for our family of 4 flying from Pit to Orlando July 16-July 21!!!

I just got the same price for our family of four from Raleigh in September. The fare had been over $800.00!:cool1:

It occurred to me this afternoon that I should take advantage of the Promotional fares that were $49 from PHL to MCO. I saw there was available seats on the 9am flight, but since I didn't have my notes with me I wasn't sure if I could swing it today or if I'd have to put it off a little while longer. I had planned on waiting for DING based on last year's history.

I got online at home a little while ago and plugged in are departure date and the 9:00 flight is no longer available (except for one seat). I selected a later flight figuring I could change it out later if the earlier flight opens up. Worst case, we arrive a bit later in the day...in any case "WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!" Now I've got to hope there's another special on return flights. They are sold out of the promo fares except one with a stop at RDU that will take twice as long as the non-stop.

Good for you! We got a Southwest Internet Special for our June 28-July 12 trip a few months ago. $49 per person each way 5 people a little over $500!!

Good for you Beth! I'm glad you got a good rate!

I'm also THRILLED that you posted this because I just checked our dates and I was able to get the flights we wanted out PIT and I go them for $55 each way :cheer2: They were just at $120 each way just yesterday!!! I'll keep hoping for a Ding but I am so happy that I got this great rate:banana:

Now that I got this great rate out of PII, can anyone a good hotel for the night before? We live in Ohio about 2 hrs out of Pit, so for us to get our 7;45am flight to MCO, it is easier to stay the previous night and take the shuttle to the airport. It is usually about even money since then we don't pay for parking at the airport. Last time I flew out of Pit, I think we stayed at Crown Plaza??
Thanks!

There is a LaQuinta near the old airport that is nice and really reasonable. They have a free shuttle to the airport and I believe that you can leave your vehicle there for the week. If you can't leave your vehicle there, then there is a great long term parking place (Globe) right across the street that also has a free shuttle to and from the airport.

I am so glad that so many people were able to take advantage of these great rates! :) Even my friend was able to get a great price for visiting her Dad in Port Canaveral in July.

And IntenseBlue, here's a big dose of pixiedust: that you get a good price for your return flight. I won't promise you, but it seems that if you are patient, you can eventually get a good price.
