I was trying to book 3 MK view rooms at Poly. One needs to have a roll in shower. The CM said there were NO rooms at Poly that had MK view and handicap accessibility.:confused3 Can she be right?

Yes, she's right. Special needs knows their stuff.

The bad news is there is no choice of view. The good news is that the rollin shower rooms in Rapa Nui are very large (476 sq ft), close to the TTC and there is a parking lot right outside the building. And the garden views are lovely.

Thanks. My FIL is insisting he have MK view in his room. I really don't like GF and he doesn't like CR. Not sure what to do next.

Well, I know of one room at the GF with a great view of the MK. I've heard there are only (I think) 9 accessible rooms at the GF and I don't know if any others have MK views. There is a DISser named Linda who knows about the accessible rooms at the CR. She started a thread about family suites at the All Stars which you can find under the resort FAQs.. Her screen name is minnie61650. If you find her thread you could pm her or ask on the disAbility board. Or maybe she'll see this thread.

But it is so easy to get to the beaches from any building at the Polynesian and you can save big bucks by staying gardenview. Good luck.

It is a real shame the Poly does not HA rooms with a MK view.

I tried to book a room with a MK view at the Poly for our anniversery a few years and was very dissapointed to find out the only HA rooms are in the Rapa Nui building.

The CR has a HA room with a MK view and a roll in shower on the 12(CL) floor .

There is also a HA room on the 14th (CL)floor. Room #4915
Iam not sure if it has a roll in shower.

Here is the layout of the 14th floor at the CR.

Good Luck!

There are also 3 rooms in Tokelau on the ground level facing the pool that are HA rooms (picture below) and one of the princess suites facing the castle has a rool in shower and tub with handrails.

You found them Steve! I remember telling you that we were shown an accessible room in that area many moon ago. But we have never been placed in those rooms. Do you know if they are rollin shower rooms? It was so many years ago that I can't remember.

I still would prefer Rapa Nui. The walk to the GCH would be a bit shorter from those rooms but the short walk to the TTC and the parking lot right outside make Rapa Nui a better choice IMO. Pools would be closer from Tokelau too of course....hmmm.

Yeah when I was there a great concierge CM (David) looked up the rooms on the system that had roll in showers or tub rails and 3 rooms came up in Tokelau (along with the rooms in Rapa Nui). I updated my maps on Tokelau and Rapa Nui pages to show that they are H.A. rooms. I am not sure which ones have the roll in showers.

The rooms are right next to the middle entrance to Tokelau so going right out the side near Tahiti would only add about a minute onto the trip to the TTC but it would put you closer to the pools and the GCH. Since Tokelau has the larger rooms also the only thing Tokelau is lacking is being nest to the parking lot and the double sinks but most of the HA rooms only have one sink anyway.

Aloha

Steve
