Moving from one hotel to another?

Hi,

We are staying at Pop October 27 and then moving to BWV October 28. We were thinking of going to MNSSHP that night but we wanted to lay by the pool etc. until about 5:00 before going to the party.

What are the chances of getting a room early? If you cannot get into the room early can you store luggage and use the facilities until check-in? If you are allowed to do this do you think it would be a hassle? Has anyone else done this?:confused3

I think I read something once (Mousesavers or Allears?) that you don't have to do the move, all you do is pack your things (leave them in the room?) and Disney will transport them to your new room. I think they also reprogram you KTW so all you do is stop at the front desk and get your room number?? Curious to know if this is in fact true.

Moving resorts is very simple. We have done so for the past few years and will be doing it again in July. On the day of the switch simply pack your bags and have bell services pick them up at your room or bring them to bell services, they will tag them and have them sent to your new resort.

Ideally, when you go to check in later that day your bags will have arrived. They will give you a "new" KTW. If you have tickets from the previous resort they can transfer the remaining days to your new key. They cannot transfer dining. The dining plan will remain on your old key and needs to be used by midnight day of checkout from original resort.

Thank you to both of you for your posts.:)

Sorry, I was not clear in what I was asking. I have heard that it is quite simple to transfer from one resort to another. What I am wondering is if do early check-in and cannot get into our room can we relax by the pool etc.? We were wanting a relaxing day before we go to MNSSHP but it is hard to do when transfering to a different hotel. I hope I am making some sense here.:)

Yes, you can use the pool and resort facilities once you check in before your room is ready! We did this at the Beach Club a couple of years ago.

I don't see why you couldn't hang out by the pool. It would be no different than arriving at WDW before check in time. You still have your keys to the world and can do whatever you please, you just can't get to the room till 3pm.

No hassle at all. There are, as far as I know, changing facilities (and maybe even showers?) in the laundry room buildings at each pool at Pop Century. Although… if you don’t have any particular ‘demands’ regarding your room for the one night – like location/floor/beds – chances are A room will be available for you when you check in.
About moving, though – find out how busy Pop Century expects to be on the day you change resorts. It may take ‘a while’ for your luggage to get to BWV. I love Pop, but last year they managed to not be able to find my luggage for a lot of hours after I was told it would be in my room – and I was just moving from one side of the resort to the other!

Thats what I am looking for:thumbsup2

Does anone know if the BWV have a change room with showers etc, that we could use if hanging at the pool before check-in?:)

I'm so concerned about this... If we pay for dining for a certain number of nights, why would they expire after checking out of the first hotel? We are staying our first three nights at BCV and our last at OKW, but paying for four nights of dining, which would include that fourth night at a different hotel...am I misunderstanding, would we not be able to use our fourth TS and CS? Thanks for any clarification you can offer!:goodvibes

Are you DVC members or renting from members? If so, you do not have to buy theme park tickets to have the dining plan and you would have it for the 3 nights at BCV and 1 night at OKW if that is what you paid for.

If you are not DVC owners or are not renting - Do you have the package for the three nights at BCV only? or did you buy two separate packages? If you only purchased the package from Disney for for the 3 nights at BCV your dining package will expire midnight of checkout of BCV. Your tickets would still be good. Hope this was not too confusing. I would be willing to answer specifically if I knew if you were DVC.

Bump

Still wondering if anyone knows if BWV has shower and change room by the pool area?:)

We were there in March and I don't remember seeing a shower. There are restrooms just opposite the gym and arcade...I'm pretty sure there are no showers...:confused3

Thanks so much for the reply--we are renting from our friends who are DVC. He has reserved BCV for three nights and we're waitlisted for the 4th, but currently will have to switch to OKW. We have tickets unrelated to the DVC rent (previous leftover non-exp)...

I have a really specific question pertaining to this year with the switch that I hope you can help me to figure out--can we buy all four nights (of dining) when we check in to BCV? It doesn't sound like we can. Which makes my ADR's really confusing too!!!...I have reservations for CG (2 TS) our third night --so the one leftover TS credit (from the 3 at BCV) would still be ok b/c its before midnight on the day we check out, and I will have the one TS from that night at OKW--but my question is will they combine 2 different DDP --the one from BCV an dthe one for that actual night at OKW? I hope that makes sense how I've tried to explain it....it may just be too confusing to try to deal with...if they just gave me the four nights of DDP when I check into BCV, if I can pay at that time for OKW, that would be ideal....any thoughts on this confusing story??? If it's too much trouble to try to figure it out, please don't owrry about it! I'm hoping we come up on the waitlist and then we won't have to worry about it! :goodvibes

I don't know the answer to that one. We are not DVC, I just know the DVC rule about the dining plan as we have gone to Disney with friends who are DVC.

Maybe someone else here can chime in? Good Luck, hope you get all nights at BCV. We love the Beach Club, never stayed at the Villas, but the resort is great!

You can check in at BW as soon as you wish. You can change in the restrooms just past the pool area. I've never seen shower facilities at the pool. I guess they figure those at the pool have a shower in the room. I know the health club has shower facilities but I'm not sure they are available to everyone. You could check though. If not, just change in the restrooms, hang at the pool and as soon as your room is ready, head up and shower.

When you check in, you will have a set number of nights for your dining plan. So...lets say you check in at BCV on Sunday, and check out on Wed (3 nights, 4 days). Then you check in at OKW on Wed afternoon for one night. You will have until wed evening to use the credits on your dining plan. As of midnight, on that Wed, they are gone. They are basically tied to your room reservation. Pay for the three nights at BCV, and the one night at OKW. If your waitlist comes through, you can have all 4 nights at the one resort. Hope this isn't as 'clear as mud' and that it helped a little bit.

I think it helped...thank you...but at the risk of sounding dim, I'm going to ask if this means that I can pay for all four nights, though at two diff hotels, all at once so that I can get all four nights on the DDP at once? Thanks:goodvibes

I don't think so. I think it has to be split per resort since you are doing a split stay. You can always call and ask a CM, though.

Thanks so much for the reply--that's great advice to call a CM and just ask and that way I can plan ahead--thanks Hockey Mom for the heads up at the start of this thread!! I would've gone there and been disappointed--I'm so glad to have figured this out now!
