Just Back from CBR - It was GREAT!!!

Hi All-

My 6 year old dd and I just returned from four days at CBR - WE LOVED IT! We were in Aruba Building 53, room 5329. We had a king size bed in a corner room and it was lovely. The furnishings were great and the room had a lot of space. My dd loved the pool at Old Port Royale and would have loved to have had some time on the playground at the resort. We walked passed the village pool in Aruba a couple of times and it was big for a quiet pool. The walk to Old Port Royale wasn't bad - about 10 minutes and that's only because dd lives to stop and smell the roses so to speak!

The food court was good. We ate there two times - once for dinner and once for breakfast. We stopped in at other times to refill our mugs or grab snacks. The place was never dead! We made the mistake of showing up for lunch at about 12:30 on Saturday - the lines were enormous. Instead we went to DTD. This was the only time we had a problem.

Check in was smoothe as we arrived late. Our CM was fabulous! In fact, the entire resort staff was friendly and courteous. Our housekeeping was efficient and good, and done early (the way I like it!)

All in all, I would recommend this resort. The only possible drawback I could see is the size. We had a rental car so it was no big deal. However, I would not want to have to rely on an internal shuttle to get around (provided you don't want to walk.) Otherwise, the colors and decor are great and very relaxing, and the resort feels a world away from everything else.

Our DS was 7 when we 1st tried--and fell in love with-- CBR~
Did yr DD have time to try the Pirate Adventures they offer?

CBR is our sentimental fav resort!
Our last stay was in winter '06 & we loved it just as much as ever!
The staff is excellent, our room was spotless, check in painless--& yes, even super, thanks to wonderful CM Patricia!

We've had the corner room in Aruba & it is my fav, but DH & DS prefer Jamaica.
Both sections are fantastic--short walk to the parking lot & buses & (if you take the shortcut) Old Port Royale. The looping bus ride we enjoy, we never tire of viewing the property or enjoying a singalong w/the other bus passengers!

I am so very glad to hear you had a good time! We fell in love with the CBR from the minute we drove onto the resort grounds in June, 2006. In fact, we liked it so much we are headed back for a 10 day stay in just 23 days! Can hardly wait!

Did you book a king room or were you upgraded? My DH and I are going to request bldg 55 in Sept. We've done 53, 43, 54 and we love Aruba section. They're all nice though.

Those corners rooms with the bulbe windows in CBR are my fave!! I wish I could remember which building we were in. Such a beautiful resort!

Our first time staying at CBR in 30 days I requested Aruba or Jamica. We have a 6 yr old DS so have to check out the beach areas and playgrounds.
I am soooo excited to hear positive reports

What's the pirate adventures? Is it something to do at the resort? We're going in March for our first time at a moderate.

CBR offers a kids pirate adventure on Sundays and Tuesdays. They take the kids out for 2 hours 9:30 - 11:30 to go searching for pirate treasure. They get to eat lunch while they are there. I have ressies for my DD (7) and DS(4) in Sept. When I called the CM told me that the Tuesday cruise only had one spot left so I had to book Sunday. The CM stated that they only take so many kids at a time.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. First time there in Nov 06 with my DD (10) and we can't wait to go back in Sept 07. We loved it there and our stay was perfect. We were in Jamaica bldg.41. I requested Aruba or Jamaica this time. The walks a little longer to the food court but one of the best things to me about CBR is the jaunt across Caribbean Cay to Olde Port Royale. It is magical especially in the early morning.

that was where i went with my son for his 1st trip-just the 2 of us !!
we loved it but didnt get to see so much of the resort because we were at the parks from open to close (now i know better)
from what i remember it was very peacefull and clean and gave me a safe feeling which is very important being a single mom and it got me hooked on disney forever !!
