used the meal plan at universal? i asked this at the universal forum but got no answer....i am going with my mom for mothers day and thinking about getting the 1 day 2 park meal plan...

I looked at it last time I was there and decided that I would have to eat a lot of very fattening food to break even. The plan is very restrictive on what you can order.

I hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong.... when I looked into this for our upcoming trip... they were offering..

1 day 2 park meal deal I believe includes a sit down dinner at select restaurants at City Walk.

1 day 1 park meal deal does not.

yes, i saw that too, you can get 1 sit down dinner at one of three places at citiwalk...but in the park do you have to eat at the same places or is there more than one place? i know it will be alot of unhealthy stuff but i am only getting it for one day and i wont be eating all day long...but i thought i would spend more than 24.00 on the one meal at night...anyone ever done this plan? i need to know more about it...

Search a little further back on the Universal section of the board. KStarfish82 recently posted a review when they tried the meal plan. Sorry I don't know how to link to it. When I checked this morning it was on page 3 of the Universal threads. Basically they thought it was a good deal. Hopefully you will be able to fidn the review.

I did the one park meal thing last august at ioa. We began eating right when the restaurants open. There was no one there and I figure I would get my food, eat and then get back into line and get something else. Well I was so wrong. A big group of people showed up and the line didn't move. I really feel the service is way too slow (even without the meal plan). My son hardly ate anything. I did get my money's worth because later that night around closing time for restaurant I went to burger digs and kept getting into line to get the chicken sandwiches. I ate about three pieces of chicken and took the cookies to the hotel room that night to eat. Just remember if you do plan on using, the restaurants don't open until around 11 a.m. and they close about an hour or so before the park actually closes. The restaurants now on the plan are Mel’s Drive-In, Louie's Italian Restaurant and International Food and Film Festival at Universal and Circus McGurkas, Comic Strip Cafe®
andCaptain America Diner at IOA. I see that burger digs is no longer on the list.

I have annual passes for Universal. We took our daughter (first timer) there for her Senior Spring Break (happened to be Easter week) last year. We got the plan for the 3 of us one day and bought 1 cup. Things may have changed (what doesnt') but it was well worth it for us. We went to International and ate lunch (Chinese for me, about $11) when they opened. Had no problem even though busiest time of the year. We went back sometime in the afternoon and got 2 fruit salad plates $8 each, again no wait. After eating dinner (Monster Diner, some pasta dish $10 ), we went to a snack shop and each got a fruit pastry. We picked up a couple of things through the day, but I can't recall.

The food is NOT as good as in Epcot, but if you don't want to leave the park you can easily come out ahead.

We went to Universal last year during school vacation (really busy time) and had no problem waiting for our food on this plan. It was great because 2 of our children were under 3 and big eaters so I feel we got our monies worth. We just stopped in along the way to the attractions and got fries for the kids to nibble on, or whatever we wanted to eat. I loved the fruit tray at International food and film. That was a great snack. We got a bunch of those and those were like $8 each. I think next time we go back we will probably do it again. Actually we may try the deal with the dinner on Citywalk, because they didn't have that the last time we were there.
