Animal Kingdom Lodge room views???

Just wondering about savanna views.

We are planning to visit in October and stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Has anyone one stayed in a room facing the Arusha or the Uzima Savannas who would like to give their opinion about the good/bad of the view??

I can't give you a first hand account today but I plan on doing a hotel review when we get back from our trip. I paid for a savanna view and requested Arusha. I was curious how all of the construction will impact our stay so I didn't want to make too many requests. Our stay is 42 days out so my review will follow that.

We stayed Arusha savanna..zebra trail and it was GREAT!! We had a watering hole outside our window and giraffes there all day and night long. Arusha is the best view they have..that is unless the DVC building is ruining it. But are they using the Arusha savanna rooms for DVC? Doesn't make much sense if they are since you can see that savanna from the lobby.Arusha is the center of the building. Azuma looked nice too...but not as quiet as the Arusha.

We always stay in a room on the Zebra Trail, Arusha Savannah--great view, plenty of animals. This is the side of the Lodge were the pool and restaurants are located.

I just spoke to a CM re: construction at AKL. It began to concern me after reading all these messages. We have a savannah view and I specifically asked him if we would notice it. He said, no. Apparently we will only see construction vehicles in the parking lot. I hope that eases some fears, it sure eased mine. If anyone has been recently and has other information contradicting this, I'd love to hear about it. I don't want to spend extra money for something that won't be magical!

I stayed in room 5457 on the Uzima Savanna a couple of years ago. At first, I was disappointed that the room was not on the Arusha Savanna, but the view was fantastic! There were always animals around. There was also a watering hole almost in front of our balcony and the animals came to drink there quite often. You can see a large part of the Uzima Savanna from this room. Bring your binoculars!
